Universum and Sauerland/Hayemaker have been jabbering for months and we don't have a clear picture... Worst case scenario is Haye is inactive for awhile and Chagaev's health is the excuse.

Anyone with knowledge of WBA politics have anything to share on this?

Will this thing go to a purse bid? Or will it not get that far? Can Haye still avoid Chagaev by winning the bid?

If Haye can avoid Chagaev will he do so?

So far he has gone to any length to avoid any form of challenge since turning heavyweight, i can't see him stopping this trend now.
Chagaev beat Valuev a hell of a lot more convincingly than Haye did.

Chagaev won't be allowed to fight in Britain, so it's possible.

Would the BBBofC frown upon Haye facing him outside of their control? They didn't like Lee Kellett fighting in the "Bigger is Better" tournament in Cyprus...

WHY? just because Chagaev can't fight in one country?
the WBA needs to push the fight or Haye needs to be stripped!

Because he's got hepatitis. How can he be passed as fit? It's ridiculous.

ye the old midget plodder with hep b is so dangerous right now!

didnt he look dangerous last time,vs a nobody aswell!

the champ has the right to fight in his home country,or country of choice.

i think haye wants a better opponent who has more left in him than chageav, hopefully they will make no 3 povetkin his mandatory.

meehan isnt really a name or big challenge, plus the loser of an elimanator should not be handed a title shot.

and no2 for wba is valuev, who im sure is injured and inactive.

if they force him to fight chageav and find a venue,it will be an american debut, which is well overdue.

    I agree 100%. He's got hepatitis.

If you let him fight, then you've got to let guys with HIV fight.

As for the "he can't fight in one country". No, there are more countries he can't fight in than he can.

He's also pulled out of several fights due to "strange" health issues, obviously related to hepatitis. Swelling etc.

The man needs to retire. It's sad, but that's the way it is.

Now the fanboys start! hepatitis=HIV! Waldimir fought Chagaev, why can't Haye?
but i say let the guy fight Holyfield or some other bum, he's not gonna make any money, and thats alright by me.:D

Why do some say Haye will fight Holyfield? Is that an inside joke or have there been talks?

Hope that doesn't happen. I'd rather see Haye-Tarver.

If I was picking from the WBA ratings I'd say first Povetkin, then Mormeck.
