Whatever happens on saturday we know haye is going heavy but do u think he has the ingredients to become a great HW?
Possibly in todays climate. Saturday will give a good indication of how his chin holds up against a real banger (albeit at 200 lbs) now he says that weight draining hasn't been an issue this time, unlike the JMM fight. Has to improve his defence as well tho, his left hand still stays worryingly low for me.
Hell, yeah! Its not like todays Heavyweights are anything special. Anyone with a bit of athletisism and a good punch with a fighters heart can dominate the current crop of roly-polys, primma -donnas, circus freaks, fatsos, and mambo kings.
Yes! He is skilled, has good speed, power and size and he is generally in good shape. He carries his left hand low so he is open to being hit and can be knocked down. So maybe he gets knocked out acouple of times. but he has the ability to do it.
I doubt he'll become a great in the true sense of the word, he's too open for that He can definitely win a belt or two, make some big fights, and bring a bit of excitement in and out of the ring
He is certainly capable of it. We'll know more when he gets hit when he isnt weight drained and see whether his chin improves when he stops draining himself. Even if he remains a bit chinny his offensive capabilities will most likely see him to an ABC title or two.
I agree. There are a lot of flaws that should have been addressed already which can be attributed to being trained by a guy nobody's ever heard of. I think part of the chin issue with Haye is that he doesn't know how to take a punch or to put it another way every time he gets hit he gets hit very flush. Maximum impact. He can't roll with a punch and his defence is almost non-existant. I'm going with Enzo too, a high guard and intelligent pressure and he could dismantle Haye completely. Haye's a freakish puncher so he's got to not get hit though........
I believe he has the capabilities to become THE man at heavyweight. His power is awesome, and it has the potential to improve as he steps up in weight and is not drained as he currently is. The heavyweight division is not exactly heaped with talent and i think that Haye can clear them out. Even Wlad, whose whiskers are not what you would describe as teak tough. If Haye lands flush, wlad would be on his back for about 3 weeks.
A Cruiserweight with a lightheavyweight chin won't reign any heavyweight division.. He can make a few waves with his power and skills , but like Audley he will very soon get found wanting when his heart is questioned ...
I don't even care if he can or can't, I just hope he makes a big enough splash at HW to get all those fat-asses into shape. Also a fight with Wlad would be exciting.
Likeable as David is , i wish he didn't have the small flaws surrounding his chin, but he does, He can beat everything below Samil San.. but at that top level amongst your Mcclines and Williamsons he gets his screws loosened . I wish him well and carefully managed he can be a rich guy... A top champ... NO.. God bless..
I think he can beat many fo the top ten, the thing that lets him down is his shaky chin and low defence, he will be knocked out eventually. however look at the guys who have won world heavyweight titles in recent years, Haye will in my opinon become a heavyweight champion without doubt. He has already bulldozed his way to the linear 200lb championship and he beleive he is extrmely weight drained at that weight. Without weight making David could become fresher and stronger over 12 rounds. The Heavyweight division needs guys like Haye. There is a huge question mark over Hayes abilities as a world class heavyweight, but im hoping haye will transform into a Heavyweight Nigel Benn, exciting big punches but vunrable enough to give his oponents a chance, hence making great heavyweight fights. I cant remember the last heavyweight fight i truly enjoyed from start too finish!
JC , I see exactly where you are coming from , but it will take a great amount of self admittance to work around his chin.. He would beat most of the british heavyweights .. Sprott , Harrison, McDermott but when you start stepping amongst even your Dominick Guinns you are going to see David struggle.. He needs to slow his roll and move up against men like Willie Chapman and Oleg Platov.. there is no reason why he wont be fine with the flaws he has as long as he reminds himself of his limitations.. he might do ok.. there are no certainties.. God bless..
Yes he can win a belt against one of the current mob, can he unify all the belts and become THE champ? No
