No. He's just not very good, for the level he is fighting at.

 

hard to tell IMO, I'm of the few ppl who are of the belief that he was unlucky not to have been allowed to carry on against haye he should have gotten ko'd properly, if he landed a wild punch on hayes chin he could have sparked him, in this situation its quite hard to tell preperation obviously wasnt there, it will take him atleast 2-3 years before hes allowed any where near world class and by that time who knows what he has left

 

jeff...with a new start and a new trainer i would say he definetly comes back from it...

enzo mac has the goods waiting there for the right trainer to shape him a little...very little work to be done with him for the right trainer..it's the tatical side of things that needs to be worked on..
he is a LOT better than the ola defeat suggests.

New trainer and he stands half a chance, the thing that worried me was the fact that Ola took the **** in the early rounds and Enzo seemed to lose heart...he didn't use his skills at all. Just tried to knock him out, bad idea. I hope he does come back stronger and better but I can't see it tbh.

 

He won the WBO title once so he can theoreticaly do it again.

He has potential and will always be a bit of a wildcard.

He needs a trainer who is going to give him 100% commitment though.

If Enzo is that man then fine, but if he's not he needs to move on to preserve his career.

 

Enzo has a chance ,but it is very slim one and he will have to work his nuts off to achieve again. He needs to get away from the poison dwarf, and get to a decent gym which is out of his comfort zone where a trainer can concentrate on him, and him alone. He needs to drop all his barrel lifting antics and engage in proper training activity to build relevant strength and durability, and he needs to start all over again... British title, Euro etc. It will be good for him, and it will show us what type of a man he is.

 

What was he thinking lugging barrells around as opposed to high quality sparring? Sparring is critical, it fine tunes everything and increases sharpness. Lifting barrells is likely to make minimal difference in comparison. Talk about priorities. Whoever trains him he needs to get in some proper cruisers/heavies to spar, whether he stays in Wales and pays for them to come in or go elsewhere.

I think he should fight Norton for the British title. That would be a decent fight. He should win that. Then fight a few European contenders. I think he'd come up short against the best, Kraj, Frenkel, Alexeev, Huck etc.

Does he really know what he wants to do ? ... hes talking up the UFC , not sparring before a huge fight with Ola and carrying barrels around ..why ????? ...... I agree with most posts he needs a new trainer Enzo Calzs lost his enthusiasm now Joes retired ....

And to be honest Ola took his punches well and caught him with a nice shot down the home stretch ... why didnt Enzo macc use his brain and realise hes winning and box his way to a victory ! .... you dont need to tko every oppponent .

 

He was hurt numerous times in the fight, Flint. When Ola landed with a good punch it staggered Enzo each time, tired or not. And he probably got tired because he kept eating right hands. His stamina was fine when he was boxing rings around Braithwaite.

 

Afolabi is ****ing good. Having said that I think Maccarinelli should fight for the British title, get his confidence back and if he wins and wins well, he could work his way back onto the world stage
