Can Holyfield still kick ass?

Holyfield is not a "force" by any means but he can still beat some of the heavyweights out there.

He is having a fight next month I believe and might get the winner of Valuev-Ruiz III if such a fight happens. I'm eagerly awaiting for Holyfield-Ruiz IV...

It would be a hilarious sight though to see 46 year old Holyfield outlast the now past-prime Ruiz whom he struggled with a decade ago in one of the worst trilogies of all time.

Holyfield hasn't been a force for six years now, but he can still beat or hold his own with some of the top20 i think.

 

No but Valuev is that bad

 

That means nothing you cant take the top 10 guys.

Holyfield has enough left to be a little comeptitive against top 10 guys but not enough to win.

 

I suppose that Holy could still beat some top 20, but again, I am sure there are many more top 20 who could beat Holmes kinda easily.

The guy should have retired long ago. Sure he still looks fit... I just hope his health won't pass him a heavy bill in the future :?

 

He can without a doubt still make an impact in the division, he just can't fight young, prime aggressive fights like Ibragimov. He needs to be matched with very slow and limited big men or fighters up in age as well like when he fought Savarese.

Really, I can't understand the disgusted outcry for him to retire. After everything the mans given to the sport the near consenus is a raging "retire". The man's earned the right to do whatever, and I mean whatever he'd like to do.

As he's said in interviews he's learned to relax and feels he's more skillful then he was in recent years. He's not out there getting beat up like he was against Bowe, he's not fighting wars. The Valuev fight didn't see him being hit with a single extremely hard shot. If he wants to keep fighting the Ruiz, Virchis and Sprott's of the division let him!

After all he's got about 3 dozen kids to support.

 

I very much agree. He always comes into the fights in great shape and he really, truly has slowed down his work rate. He made Valuev fight his fight to a tee and was very successful doing so. Valuev is a far better fighters then a Sprott or Virchis by the way, and if Holyfield wants to pocket several million more bucks in the next few years, that's fine by me.

NO man has earned the right to do as he pleases in the ring then Evander.

 

Evander is the man no question about it,he beat the Sasquatch and became the oldest man to ever win the HW title in december and was robbed.**** those judges.

That being said I would like him to retire even though I'm a huge fan.No need to try again altough verything looks like he will get another WBA title shot.
