Waste of money, but you can tie them to your wrists for shadow boxing. Kickboxers (points) or TKD fighters use ankle weights, but they have no functional use in boxing in my opinion. Footwoork drills and calf raises are more boxing specific
One of my buddys wear a weighted vest warming up for sparring. Says it make him feel twice as light and a lot quicker.
See that guy in your picture Sugar Ray Leonard, that man could move. Movement can sometimes be as deadly as power shot's, totally neutralise fighters. If you have the natural ability of co-ordination and movement/agility...why not enhance it even more. Wear it while sparring, weighted vest's are better than ankle weights because the weight is evenly spread out across your body. Do agility drills, between cone's...while wearing the vest aswell.
Thanks bro im gonna check that vest out and wear it at the gym. Would you recommend it for roadwork or is it bad for your joints or something?
I'm not touching it. My joints are stressed bad enough as it is, no need to make them suffer even more.
mayweather wore them for skipping coming up to de la hoya fight but that is on a soft surface they are good for skipping.
i think ankle weights would be useful for moving the front leg forward when stepping forward and the back leg when stepping back also for both legs when side stepping
