Can I justify putting Jose Napoles in my top 15 p4p all time?

Honestly I want too because he is just so unbelievably amazing. I could watch him all night. He is EVERYTHING I look for in a fighter. Dare I say he is one of the greatest fighters of all time at his best. Just watch him, the guy could box, he can punch, he can finish, he can move, he can think, he can make you miss, he can take it., ....Just the perfect blend of boxer puncher. Incredible timing in his punches, ridiculous ring iq, super slick movement, his punches flow like smooth sailing, and he can put your lights out with a powerful left hook or cobra like right hand. He makes very skilled boxers look average, just dominates them

I am not making any 140 throughout history a favorite over a peak Jose Napoles. No way.

Can I justify the placement with his resume? His resume is very solid, but enough to rank him near the top ten?

You might be able to but there are a lot of great contenders for that top 15.

Jose Nappies is my muse as a trainer. If you place your top fighters purely on ability and style...if you factor in other stuff...
The consensus #1 is SRR, said to have been at his best at 47. On their best days Napoles gives Robinson as much as he can handle if not more.

If you rank h2h, then sure you could.

I'm not sure I have him in my top 15 personally but he's right up there.

You see guys like Chavez right up there and Napoles is every bit as food as he.

    Yes, why not ?
You don't actually have to ask others if YOU can justify anything.
I wouldn't personally rate him in my top 15, but I look at some of the fighters who are commonly listed in these top 15 lists and a lot don't have the dominant reign to match Napoles.

I think it's a stretch. I think you would need to have such specific criteria that it would make for a very odd top fifteen. You would have to stress the title, you would have to stress domination. So I would expect to see guys like Hagler and Monzon very high up, Langford maybe lower down. Consistency over explosive brilliance. Not that Napoles wasn't brilliant.

In the end you can put anyone you want at #15, or #1 for that matter. To "justify" putting Napoles at #1, all you have to do is convince people that you believe that he's the best fighter you've ever seen and you're away. People would always criticise and it would always look odd though.

Lets put it this way. At 147 I would rank him higher than Leonard, and I don't feel the need to justify it at all. I'd let their records in the division speak for themselves.

So if you want to rank Jose in your top 15, go ahead.
