Can I see your MW list? Top 10, 15, 20, whatever?

Greb had tortures making the weight for Walker and fought a very conservative figth by his standards , at least for the first half of the fight I read that he lived on orange juice to make the weight and had to run around the local reservoir the day of the fight to make the limit.

 

As much as the 'Greb' debate pisses me off...... alternatively, makes me look a dill, dont the reports suggest Greb was close to BLIND in one eye, post Walker???

 

Greb was blind in one eye after the Kid Norfolk fight in 1924.

 

Maybe its a bonus..(being semi-blinded).. be buggered if I'd be willing to see 'Tiger', or Mickey Walker's crude facials prior, mid-event or post fight.

 

I was gonna add Ketchel to the honourable mentions every time I post this list ppl ask me about Ketchel. Langford and Fitz are difficult to rate I have Langford top 3 at light heavy and top 20 heavy. I should probably mention Fitz but can't decide who to leave out.

Hopkins was great at ths weight and had the consistency and title defences but Burley's resume is much better at the weight.

I try not to rate fighters before 1900 with those who fought after. The only reason being that my knowledge of that era is very lacking. I know of Dempsey, and I know of his reputation as a great fighter, but very little true knowledge about him. Don't know enough about Gibbons either.

I don't try to rank Langford by divisions. These lists are hard enough as it is without trying to find a good place for Langford according to what he did at that specific weight.

Charles would be top 20 around 15. Yeh Ketchel would probably be 12 or 13 seems a little low but my ranking always change so he may move up.

 

I normally rate those that formally held the title as Champ ,then make a seperate list ,I mean what do you do about

Archie Moore had some good wins here too!
Then you have to factor in old time middles like Fitz, Ryan , Dempsey, its a night mare.
I used to think the Lightweight s were the richest division ,but Im not sure now ,and think of all the great LHVY's!
