Can Jaron Ennis market himself without using Crawford's name?

We have an IBF champion who has yet to beat anyone who will ever win a title at that division. The man walked to the ring in all smiles proudly holding up a title that another man beat up and the other man for. He just so happen to have a WiFi connection and found out that they stripped that man of his title to give it to him.

He now has built his legacy up on claiming everyone is avoiding him, beating up on form lightweights and super lightweights moving up to the division, and/or individuals that Crawford stopped years prior to.

A man who claims to be bigger and stronger than the elites of the sport find himself settling for easy work way too often. He was caught in a lie twice claiming individuals turned down fights vs him. One of them was Crawford who he claimed he wanted to fight in 2018..............the year Crawford just became undisputed at 140 and was trying to move up to challenge for a title at 147lbs. If that was true, why are you as a welterweight gunning for a competitor in a lower division instead of aiming for Thurman or Porter or Spence or Garcia.....the title holders in your division?

We will ignore the fact that they turned down the Crawford fight twice (was even confirmed by Bozy) and that being the reason Crawford fought Avaneysan in the first place.

I end my comments here as I know I have said too much for his fans to accept. Apparently, these days, if you speak on too many facts that aren't complimentary then you are considered a "hater".

I think he can. He has a fan friendly style and is surrounded by interesting opponents from 140 to 154. At 27 he’s entering his prime and probably has a good 5 to 8 year window to make some noise

He just needs that one bigger name to really pop off for the fans. Hes interesting and fun enough to watch where he could become easily become an American star.

I have a bit of a gripe with the wording of this post. Are boxing fans really this jaded?

Idk maybe it’s just me but it seems pretty dismissive of his obvious talent.

I believe he can as well. I just hate that he has dedicated his legacy to chasing a guy who at this time is out of his reach. Crawford is well too accomplished and of the previous generation. Obviously, there's nothing wrong with calling out the top dog or wanting to be in the ring with a legend. Crawford wanted to fight Manny and pushed for it a few times. But when he couldn't get the fight, Crawford still put himself out there to do great things.

We have yet to see Boots do anything great. His relevance is beating up on overmatched opponents and then mentioning Crawford. He's much too talented for that to be his marketing strategy.

Agree. He just seem to act as if the only name is Crawford when there are multiple individuals out there that can help launch his stardom beyond Philly.

Well, let me help you....first, understand I speak for myself. One man. I'm not "boxing fans"....I'm Just A BOXING FAN, so if you have a "gripe" with the wording, then address me, not a group of people or a community.

That being said....comprehension is everything. Feel free to point out something I said that was actually dismissive. I simply highlighted reality, facts, things actually that actually happened and can be found on a timeline.

I have an issue when people feel I have to give a positive opinion about a fighter in order for what I write to be valid.

Jaron Boots Ennis has 32 professional fights. Only faced one opponent whom has ever held a world title and that was Lipinets who was champion for 6 months at 140lbs. His first 20 fights, well, here's the competition he face while building his name.

    Cory Muldrew 1-9 ....today is
    Luis Ramos 0-1
    Deshawn Debois 0-4
    Tavorus Teague 3-12-2
    Matt Murphy 1-3-1
    Eddie Diaz 2-4-2
    Chris Alexander 4-2
    Marcus Beckford 3-4-3
    Elvin Perez 28-16-4
    James Winchester 20-12
    Eduardo Flores 25-26-3
    Wilfred Acuna 16-20
    Robert Hill 6-32
    Ricardo Cano 17-12-5
    Leonel Jimenez 3-18-1
    Ayi Bruce 23-14
    George Sosa 15-10-1
    Gustavo Garibay 13-9-2
    Samuel Amoako 23-17
    Mike Arnaotis 26-10-2

He fought all of these stallions before he faced an opponent who had experience without so many losses, Armando Alvarez 18-0.....whom retired the following year.

So, according to you, me pointing out the lack of legit competition is being dismissive..... Pointing out that the world title he has actually belongs to the 2x Undisputed world champion is dismissive?....... Wow.... I guess if I was to point out that before last night, Ennis largest purse was only $400K would have been dismissive as well huh?.....

You really don’t see anyone challenging him at 147?

What have you seen that says guys like Brian Norman Jr or Stanionis or Benn can't beat him. I've seen him throughout the amateurs. I have sparring footage from a few years ago as well. I know he passes the eye test, but unbeatable is not a label I would place on him at this point. He gets touched a lot by those who aren't half as gifted as him. What happens when he goes up against a legit opponent?

And I personally don't think Crawford will ever fight at 147lbs again, so if they were to fight, it would be at 154/60lbs.....

    Sidenote:

I love that Crawford has again pointed out the hypocrisy of his critics, in this case, Eddie Hearns, yet again.

After Crawford was announced to be facing David Avaneysan when the first Spence negotiations were dismantled, Eddie Hearn claimed Crawford was 'cherry picking' his opponents in reference to DA. Fast forward to today, Eddie Hearns has talked David up as an opponent for Jaron Ennis. Called him a 'world class fighter' when Ennis stopped him.

    What changed, Eddie?

Its the same ****, different story.

Spence was a MONSTER for 5 years and Bud dismissed that.

Manny was a MONSTER for 5 years and Floyd dismissed that.

    Same ****, different story.

I like Ennis and hes a good fighter but he and his team avoided the Bud fight:
