He needs to fight 3-4 times a year, not 1. Hopefully he stays active.

I don’t mind, I mean for a while he was a rising contender at welterweight calling out the title holders. That’s what hes supposed to do. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with him calling out Crawford as long as he continues to make worthwhile fights and try to build his profile to earn that fight.

he’s done everything he’s supposed to do positioned himself as a mandatory was trying to get the title fights before the titles got vacated. I don’t think you can blame him not having a relevant fight when the champions didn’t fight him it’s not his fault. He became the mandatory and they’d rather be stripped then fight him

This is a fact. Bud did call out Spence and Manny and didnt get the Spence fight for 5 years and never got the Manny fight. He took the best fights he could get but that only amounted to old Khan, old Brook, old Porter, Mean Machine, and David B's brotha. But the point is Bud made it happen and is a 3 division champ and undisputed in 2 of those divisions.

throw bud, zayas, tszyu, and fundora in a round robin along with those 2, and 154 is the deepest most exciting division for the next few years.

Things like this gives me wood. It'll never happen, but it's fun to wish for. Can you imagine the gravitas the winner of that tourney would enjoy? He'd be legit measured against upper tier ATGs.

Avoided Bud twice........ and then was caught in a lie when Crawford was in Philly talking to Gillie.

You can definitely blame him for not having relevant fights. That's the thing that kills me. Most fans have NO IDEA what the protocol is to make fights especially when a fighter is ranked in the top 15...... Boots has had multiple other talented fighters express an interest in getting in the ring with him, yet he made a career of fighting individuals who were on NOBODY'S radar. I posted 20 of his opponents he's faced earlier in this discussion. Each of those guys either had losing records, lost at least 5 of their first 20 fights, or were just small fighters trying to move up in weight.

Boots could have been matched up with Ortiz, Cobbs, Ellis, Benn, Stanionis, Ugas, Garcia, Norman Jr., etc.....each of those guys are on record either calling out or expressing an interest in sharing the ring with Ennis, yet, Ennis camp never made a single call or even acknowledged any of them. Everyone knew the fight that everyone wanted to see was Spence/Crawford and when it was finally happening, it was priority for the sport and fans.... Trying to get in the middle of that was ignorant. Especially when you look at the fact that he had NOTHING to bring to the table. At the time, he had no title, he wasn't a big name, he wasn't a big ticket as his largest purse was $400K. Something that Crawford and Spence both pay to their coaches.

And when Boots got in position to be able to petition for a title bout, he chose to go away from Crawford to push for a shot with Spence who was highly inactive due to his injury and negotiations with Crawford. His camp was even contacted by the WBO and BLK Prime on two different occasions to make a Crawford fight. This was confirmed by Bozy and they turned both away claiming loyalty to a platform that no longer does boxing today. Weird because Crawford was a free agent and could fight on any platform, yet that was his excuse for turning the opportunity away.

Old Khan, Old Brook, Old Porter........These dudes were all in their early 30s when they fought Crawford. And Crawford is older or the same age as all of them. Kavaliauskas was his mandatory and the #6 ranked welterweight at the time. Benavidez was ranked #6 in the division going into the Crawford fight as well, and that fight was put together by Bob Arum to launch was is now the ESPN+ app. Plus the 2 had a little history. Crawford called out Spence before moving up to the division. He originally wanted Keith Thurman who was the man to beat at the time, but Spence was being called the "Boogie Man" so Crawford said, well 'let me take him'......Spence and the rest of the PBC camp refused to give Crawford title bouts. They only wanted to make the fights once the fighters lost their title. Thurman demanded a contract 2 weeks after losing to Manny. Porter and daddy went to social media calling out Crawford the following week after realizing that Spence wasn't going to give him an immediate rematch because he was negotiating with Danny Garcia (then the car accident happened, delaying the fight).

Point is, Crawford wanted specific fights that he wasn't getting, but he continued to fight RANKED opponents whom were in arms reach from world title fights themselves and/or were world title holders (Jeff Horn). Notice, at no point did Crawford claim that Spence was avoiding him....he simply replied with the same answer when asked....."y'all know know who I want".......

Meanwhile, Boots is marketing himself as an individual who's scaring elites.....yet a bunch of C level fighters are more than willing to get in the ring with him to be the B side of a fighter who is getting $400K as the A side.....Make it make sense.

Boots is not going to fight Vergil no time soon. Neither Eddie Hearns nor Oscar De La Hoya will push for that fight. Each are trying to make those guys their cash cow and will be very selective on the match ups for both.

Vergil said he was interested in fighting Boots when they both were welterweights. Now they are in 2 different divisions. That fight is not happening in 2025 nor '26.

I would like to see Brian Norman Jr. becoming the WBO title holder once Crawford officially vacates the title August 3rd and that fight vs Ennis be a big fight to start out the new year. Or if we can't get that, Eddie Hearn try to make the Conor Benn fight happen. He's been barking about Ennis for some time now. And the fight can be done in Philly because Benn can't fight in his homeland at the moment.

No, everything youre saying is true but the reality is also that Boots has nobody to fight. Porter, Thurman, Danny retired. Spence and Bud to 154. Vergil Ortiz to 154.

The only prayer for Boots is Teo, RyGa, Haney, or one of those guys moving up cause 147 a graveyard RN

He's unlucky that all the famous 147 guys retired like Porter, Brook etc..
