I'm not praising Linares, I'm just giving him respect and a better fighting chance. 35% chance of winning means I'm treating him as just a regular fighter and not an exceptional one. :D :yep

Okay, well it all depends on how you rate the percentage and chance, if 35% is only a small, small chance to you then it makes sense. To me, 35% means an outside chance, 10% means a very slim to none chance.

What chance did you give Hatton vs. Floyd, that'll give me a better picture for how you are gauging this. I gave Hatton as much chance as I give Linares, 10%.

Okay, well in that case, 35% Linares on your percentage viewpoint is reasonable.:good

On the Taylor/PAV first fight I saw that as 50/50. Now it's 65/35 for Pav. :D

i usually agree with some of your posts, but you have to admit linares is a pretty good fighter with upside. at age 22 he's much better than supposed prospects in the same age bracket such as the likes of khan and berto.

I consider Khan and Berto as nothing however, to be better than them is a necessity if you even want to be a serious contender.

Linares being a serious contender? I could see this absolutely.

Linares heralded as 'the future, the truth, a future ATG'. **** off.

i agree thats preposterous to say so early, and the ones saying so in the other thread have gone over board with that claim. he's just a good fighter for now.

And if he got KTFO by some bum in his next fight, they'd all act like they didn't overrate him, acting as if it was no big deal, I personally find that annoying.

I can come off as a ***** to some, but if I am incorrect, I will man up to it and seek to find out why I was wrong and learn from the guys who got it right, the ignorant ends won't.

I had on that fight for Pavlik by KO -

    - 1,000$

    - 6 months off the board

    - 6 months avatar/sig bet when I returned

    - After all the **** I talked, I'd have eaten crow so large that I couldn't even discuss boxing on here anymore when I returned.

But, I would have owned up to it all and it was fun.:yep

May be competitive now but he is still too young for that class right now. I would give him a bit more seasoning before I took on those type fights. I would move him againts better comp and in about 2 years start going for the elite level. The question with Linares for me is his chin does he have a good chin and can he physically stand up to punishment, the physical stamina to trade in a slugfest.

Right now, I think he will have a good chance.

I'd favor JMM but it won't be easy.
