I’m struggling with this now, I mean boxing is surely at least 70 percent hype?
In comparison with other fighters I think it’s not on the same level, for example someone like Connor Benn, who has done nothing to warrant the high opinion he has of himself and his abilities yet has rejuvenated his career by over hyping himself and his ability, and now he is reaping the rewards of selling himself (and his soul tbf). I’m not saying that I like Connor or that he has enough talent to win a world title but he has done as much as he can to stay relevant.
And that’s the name of the game these days, keep your name on peoples lips and wait for your chance.
I don’t have any problem with this statement here because I only took issue with your calling it ducking in your previous posts, this is completely different and fair criticism.
He has absolutely achieved nothing and beaten no one of any real world level, but this is normal for a fighter who is building their career and reputation.
The difference between him and others that have been around at a similar age is the speed timing and shot selection combined with his composure. It’s not something that you see very often, if ever at heavyweight.
I remember when Dubois was coming up and taking on high level fighters early in his career, I was very impressed with his jab and how powerful it was, and also his size but that was it, he had nothing else and he looked very one dimensional, hence why he was able to get the fights, he looked like a good challenger but the truth is there’s no puzzle to figure out.
That is the exact opposite of what Moses is, he is absolutely a puzzle, and an anomaly.
It might not seem like it but I kind of agree with you here, in the context of what he has achieved but not in terms of his ability.
I have to say that your comment is true for almost every fighter in boxing, the hype very rarely matches the talent but fighters get one career and they have to sell themselves.

 

Yes, Conner Benn is a perfect example.

I thought Dubois had no talent whatsoever, but he got a lot better. I give him credit for having a good career.
