I got Juan's respect when he makes Freitas quit. He got another impressive win with Julio Diaz. But why is he still be fighting in an undercard of the HW fight in a ridiculed era of HWs??? Why is it there's no J Diaz Bandwagon??? He still fights in a Casino. Can he get the respect of Mexican fans like DLH??? What's missing with him???

Lots of big name fighters fight in Casinos. He will never be anywhere near the level of DLH. The fact that he's American hurts his marketability among Mexicans. Also, he's a pudgy guy who doesn't have much KO power. He's going to be a hard guy to market.

when he beats PAC MAN he will have more than enough popularity and exposure here in the US. The thing he has to focus on is maintaining a perfect record which will be a huge advantage to market him.

Winning against a Superstar will not guarantee a PPV success. Just ask Raheem.

I believe both Vargas and DLH were born in the U.S. Mexicans will back a fighter born in the U.S., provided he respects his Mexican heritage and fights with orgullo mexicano or Mexican pride.

yes, if he beats hatton or pac!

if not, i think he is still exciting enough to become a ppv attraction. he's young and has plenty of time to reach this kind of level of popularity.

He simply needs a big fight. Then he will be a star.

De La Hoya had to work to gain respect among Mexican fans. I'm not saying Mexican-Americans can't garner the support of Mexican fans. However, it's not as easy as if they were actually born and raised in Mexico.

No doubt. And many Mexican fans still don't like him for his bouts with Chavez. But they still order his fights.
