Kell Brook has the tools to be a beast... he just needs to put them to the test. I don't think anyone has seen him get beond second gear yet
I think this fight with Carson Jones is going to tell us everything we want to know about Kell Brook. If I was to make a prediction about his future though, I'd say he's going on to a world title sometime in the new year.
I think he can make it to World Level as he appears to have the skills to compete at Level, but I hard to tell until he fights someone at around that level of skill and experiance.
What blind judge gave Hatton 3 rounds?????? That fight was pure domination and the only time Hatton was in the fight was when Kell moved back into 1st gear and even then the rounds were close. Kell looked more dominant against Hatton than Canelo did and Kell fought at a canter that night
Some X's & O's on Kell Brook X's - Good accuracy, he times & picks his shots well, especially his jab which he switches upstairs & downstairs well - He looks solid & physically strong at WW, seems to make the limit without any problems - Improved defense, Kell has stopped pulling back in straight line with his chin up. He still relies heavily on reflexes but has shown technical improvements O's - Poor finisher, Brook is a crisp puncher but often struggles to put away guys after hurting them. He often crowds his work & doesnt mix up between power/speed. - Lack of variety, at times he can bit a one-paced & methodical. Doesnt use uppercuts enough on the inside - Flat footed, not up on his toes a lot & relies too much on head movement for evading attacks. Against someone with good speed & superior range he might find himself in trouble
I'm not sure about Kell. He's very easy on the eye and skilled fighter. I''m not sure at the top level if he hits hard enough and what he's like when put under real pressure.
Looks good enough for world level yeah, i like watching him fight he's a natural boxer. Not sure he hits hard enough for elite level though and obviously he hasnt had his chin properly tested yet. And no way did he lose 3 rounds against Hatton, absolute bollocks.
Brook hasn't proved himself to be a world level fighter yet. He is Euro champion level now. He needs to step up and fight somebosy. Guys like Khan, Alexander and Bradley have all fought top level fighters. Brook is not taking any risks. He needs to stop fighting euro-bums.
