I've been reading a lot of posts in which people don't believe that Khan can go 12 rounds without getting caught or that he will simply box his way around Maidana in 12. Since when did Maidana have George Chuvalo's or even Paulie Malignaggi's chin? I don't think Khan is going to stop him, but it sure as hell wouldn't surprise me if he did. Maidana got knocked down from punches he didn't see against Ortiz. I can envision a round where he's clipped by short, accurate punches and is knocked down a bunch of times leading to a ref stoppage.
Khan can and if he fights explosively early on and takes a risk or two, could easily overwhelm Maidana and score a KD or 2 into a TKO. Ortiz had Maidana down 3 times within 2 rounds.
He can, but why risk it? It's best to take the safe option against someone with Maidana's power and box circles around him, despite what some people here say.
I agree , i think Khan will take few risks 1 - 4 but will still land enough on Maidana to let him know that Khan can punch , once Khan is settled i think he'll be looking to sit down a bit more and plant some flush power shots on Maidana , for me the fight will effectively be over after 6 , right at the point where Mainada realises he's in there with a completly better fighter in every aspect of the sport . At which point i see Khan taking over the fight and eventually battering him into a stoppage 11 or 12 :deal Im honestly not sure Maidana will be a relevant fighter again after this fight , looking at the 140lb division right now , i think Khan will be the first in a long line of people to show Maidana up for what he really is ...........
I can envisage Maidana suffering one or two flash knockdowns from punches he won't see coming (Ortiz). And if he does get stopped, I see it happening in a similar manner to the way Khan stopped Malignaggi. Maidana may tire late on, become increasingly sloppy, and Khan's shots may take a toll on him with the referee intervening. But I can't imagine him being K'dTFO
Yes, but it would be russian roulette if he tries it... If Khan goes into the fight with the intention to t/ko Marcos we will probably have a new wba lww champion.
it's possible but Khan has to very careful if he wants to win this fight. He needs to fight Maidana from the outside using his jabs and lateral movements but I honestly don't think he will KO Maidana. He will win a UD.
i think he could, but he will need to take a few risks. i can see him trying to play it safe and use his jab and stay away to pick up a ud.
Maidana is sloppy as hell at times, i can see him walking into Khan's right and then it could be good night Salita style.
