Can Kostya Tszyu be serious about coming back? (Pacquiao, Mosley, Mayweather?!)

At the site where they have news about fights, I just read Kostya talking about never officially retiring and how a big money fight with these guys could entice him back. It's just talk...right? I mean...right?

KT...brother,...please, don't do it. The money is not worth it (if by some miracle you could score those fights).

Anybody who's lost to Hatton (except Collazo, since he oughtn't have) should be unlicensable.

Unless they have a very good excuse like Paulie (horrible corner meltdown).

He lost to Hatton and the Ref that night.

He's up for admission to HoF next ballot - I wonder if he'll really come back.

Come on, though - Castillo? Lazcano? These dudes should have bowed out around the same time Kostya did.

Picking on old men like Oliveira and Tszyu to make a name wasn't very nice.

Prime for prime we are talking about some mouthwatering fights.

Now? I hope Kostya enjoys his ongoing retirement.

Well, you're not really picking on old men when they have the title and you're the challenger now, are you?

He could have politely asked him to retire and fought for it once vacant. :bart

This is very similar to Morales calling out Pac for another fight. It sounds awful at first. When you start thinking about the financial side of things it starts to make sense. I guess I don't blame these washed up fighters considering the fact that most if not all of us would take on any pro boxer for at least a million bucks. Nobody wants to see Kos against any of the elite fighters in the game today but it's totally understandable that he wants a lot of money. Who doesn't?

One thing we do know however is that Kostya is an absolute professional and would not enter the ring unprepared.
Realistically he has looked after himself very well and really hasn't sustained much damage in the ring. In that sense he is much fresher than Morales who has looked worn for a long time, yeah even though Kostya is a hell of a lot older.

Against Hatton where he fought the ref, fought at 2am and found himself in a massive foul fest he looked a little vunerable for the first time since the Phillips fight.

I honestly think if he gave himself enough time and limited it to one or two fights it could be very interesting. Fighting at any lower than welterweight would be a total disaster though, as would above it, it would have to be at 147 without a doubt.

as always. money makes people do stupid things. **** who wouldnt get in the ring with those 3 for 5 -10 million dollars. he s just lookin for an extension to his vineyard and another yacht and trust fund for his kids. boxing and legacy have nothing to do with it. if he was in it for the love of the sport- he wouldve kept on fighting. if it was for pride- he wouldve kept on fighting. he knows, we know, everyone knows he cant fight these guys and win- he s just looking for a lottery ticket , just like morales, just like marquez, and all these guys who arent in the elite.

4 years ago- the only welter making big bucks was oscar, now there are legitimately 3 guys who might generate huge numbers- so we re now seeing alot of desperate old men looking to top up their bank accounts one last time- based off of what they did 5,6 years ago. its sad- but who says theyre not entitled to make a living. what is sadder, or would be sadder is if one of the 3 guys actually took up one of these oldies for the fight.
