Andre Ward has a lot of fights under his belt against the world's best boxers.
In none of these past fights has Ward been even close to being knocked out.
I don't believe it's possible for a MW, SMW or LHW to KO Andre Ward, but can we say the same for Kovalev?

Ward has faced some big punchers like Boone, AA, Froch, all better than anyone Golovkin or Kovalev have ever faced.

Ward's got a good chin, but bear in mind than apart from Chilemba and the clammed-up Hopkins, no one has managed to go 12 rounds with Kovalev.

No matter how hard I try to convince myself that Ward has a >= 50% chance of winning, my head tells me Kovalev by KO. We'll see who is right come November :)

I think U_A could use a primer on material hardness.

Diamond's reputation for "hardness" is due to it being a covalent network substance, and therefore highly resistant along its surface to SCRATCHING (in fact, by that metric, it may well be the hardest thing yet known to man).

In a "chin" analogy, where chin stands in for punch resistance in the context of boxing, hardness is going to be understood to refer to a brittleness measurement, on which diamonds are in fact weak as ****. There's no scratching in boxing and thus no call for a favorable metaphorical comparison to diamonds, unless you mean resistance to something like the 'razor dreadlocks' blamed for Lewis TKO6 Vitlay..which is dumb as ****. Punching something is a test of its tensile/compressive integrity, not how it rates on the Mohs scale.

...and this has been science with Dr. IntentioNeill DeGrButt Tyson. :eusa_dance:
