he can but now people will be looking to land body punches. People see the weakness. Much easier to beat a guy who has been beaten. The blueprint is there.

Not sure he has much business at CW to be honest. He can still make waves at 175 for sure assuming he is ok making weight still. I mean, he was at worst having another close fight with Ward. Ward's body work helped tire him down but he definitely needs to try to work on that gas tank, if he can. I'd still favor him over pretty much the entire division save for a maybe a couple of guys.

There are strong rumours that HBO want the winner of the Smith Jr / Barrera fight to face Kovalev next if Kovalev decides to stay at LHW.

I had a poll on who was the best h2h hw of all time a few months ago. I remember you saying it was a travesty I didn't have Rocky up, even though I had already noted that I was limited to 8 choices, had to leave some out, and therefore chose people most representative of Big vs Small, Old v New, and other arguments and he didn't make the cut.

You had a few stupid comments around that time that stuck out to me so made this easier to recall.

So, pretty clear all your picks would be cruiserweights or lower today. Doesnt really make sense for you to say Kovalev would be too small to move up to CW in light of that. His style is better suited to fighting larger men than Alis or Tunneys.

Oh **** me *roll's eyes*... LOL

All my picks? Didn't i say that generally my picks would be the likes of Ali & Holmes? So what are you talking about? Yes I stated Marciano & Tunney should ALSO be listed in terms of great H2H HW's on top of your list. So what?

Maybe i made that post under the proviso that you would have the intelligence to allow for context and the evolution of the division. That you would understand that 'HW' has evolved. But that the division today is not representative of it as a whole (historically) and a lot of it's great HWs where smaller. Hence Marciano versus a i.e a Dempsey say???

Marciano IS a gear h2h versus Louis, Johnson, Patterson, Frazier, Tunney, Dempsey etc IMO... You know great HW's?!
I think at elite level though big size differences would play a part. Limitations.. Marciano versus a Lewis say would be a mismatch.

In terms of H2H Marciano would match up well to many in the divisions history, he's clearly a much more solid unit than Kovalev anyway, and able to generate genuine HW power. Averaged about 185/90lb at a weigh in too.. Kovalev isn't Marciano! Is size the be all and end all? No. Could Kovalev be a CW? Probably. I just think he'd be a small one in with men who's frames are natural bigger and better suited. So considering he looks pretty sluggish and pretty gassed at 175 lately carrying CW weight would really help wouldn't it!u

I am flattered I stuck in your head LOL

So why does he fight at it then? I am more than happy to be proved wrong on Kovalev being a CW... I have reservations though. Good luck to him.

Good to know you can't admit it when you've been totally owned.
