You really just aren't too smart. You can't admit that you were rather epically owned, I literally wrote that and you were still somehow unable to understand that. I tried to go a bit easy on you initially, but you deny you said something, and then I quote where you said it. Thats epic ownage dude. Then you post a long, rambling, and feeble attempt to rationalize what you said. It was clear your post from months ago lumped those three together h2h. And that would actually be intellectually preferable to the excuse you later carved up. You think Ali, whose prime was about 15 years after Rocky, and who, unlike Rocky, depended on being the larger fighter, is not subject to size and generational limitations, but that Rocky is? Absurd. But go ahead and make another long rambling message to try to explain away your stupidity. It will only make you look more feeble.
I don't think Kovalev's style translates well to a move up in weight. He relies too much on punching power which will not have the same impact @ CW that it does @ LHW. He's no Bernard Hopkins or Roy Jones jr. Moving up is a BAD idea, IMO...
Financial reasons, most likely. Kova has been at 175 for a long time now. And at the age of 34 it might be a lot harder to make the weight than it was at 30, when he won his first title. -
If I could emoji, it would be a facepalm right now. You are so stupid you can't even follow you're own line of thought. Lets take this slow. You said in your post from months ago that Ali was probably your#1 h2h. You also mentioned Rocky and Tunney, implying that they would contend for the title. Later, you claim that you just thought that the latter two deserved to be options, not that they would be #1, because the division has evolved. By nature, as 2+2 is 4, that means that you think the division hasn't evolved beyond Ali, as he was your #1 pick, and even though he generally relied on a size advantage unlike Rocky. All of that is not only self defeating, it still contradicts your earlier position that Kovalev is too small to move up. Again, epic fail on all counts, and you just keep making it worse for yourself
Just noticed this. No, I think you are hypocritical and inconsistent. H2h, the shw atgs of the past 30 years would beat anyone. Therefore, if I were to say that Kovalev is too small for CW, which I probably do believe, it would be consistent. It looks absurd when you do it though, since you think the massively smaller hw's of yesteryear would beat the atg SHWs of today. Even more since you think that there is a magical line around 1960 where everyone beforehand is too old and slow, but afterward it's all good. Be consistent.
I'd give Sergey a fair shot at beating anyone not named Ward at 175lbs so I think it's silly for him to leave. He's still arguably 2nd best in the division and capable of thrashing Stevenson. While it may sound silly I'd love for Ward and Sergey to fight again, I thought the 20 rounds they tangled were intresting and dynamic. I sometimes feel blessed that I can appreciate both fights from a non biased perspective. There's nothing like observing a fight without a vested interest, annoying ethnocentric views and Xenophobic attitudes. There are handful of posters on here capable of nuetral fight breakdowns and it's the only reason I visit.
Except you came up with 8! You have taken issue with me saying Kovalev would be a lesser fighter (because of size) at CW and pretty much said this is 'contradicted' by my prior post on Marciano being able to mix it H2H with some of the greats. Yes? LOOOLL Well maybe I made those pick's on Ali & Rocky based mainly on the fact's that each man had a very special attribute (once in a generation athleticism & ATG P4P HW punching power respectively) & maybe I had no idea that some months later someone who clearly has a 'festering beef' & lacks the intellect to put things into proper context & perspective would come along & conflate (on my behalf) the entire HW timeline with SHW let alone a once in a generation HW like Marciano with (as much as I'm a fan) Kovalev! Yes Marciano is a great H2H historical HW. Would he beat elite SHWs? No. Yes I believe Kovalev would be a lesser fighter at CW & have stated why. Have a wank next time or just admit you love me. Either will do.
Are you undergoing remedial therapy or something? I have not said this.. Where are you getting this from?? H2H is based on numerous factors. Not just size. But size matters. You even agree! Don't you?
