What I'd love to see happen is Sergey to take his time finding the right trainer, have a warm up fight take on Smith -Barrera winner If successful THEN fight Ward again, BUT this time Make it a FAIR FIGHT !! NO WARD BIAS !!
@andrewa1 your views on this is extremely strict and stubborn. It doesn't have to be "us vs them". You can both believe in evalution of fighters and someone from 60s would be a badstylistic match up for the champ from 2010s. Regardless of stats, regardless of the sience of Sports in general, styles make fights. That is the first and foremost measuring stick when predicting the outcome of a fight. You don't have to believe "evalution has stopped after Ali&Holmes" just because you rate them as the best H2H, that's ridicuolus. There's nothing wrong with the way of think that "athletes do get better, but Ali's/Holmes's speed, skills, endurance, ring IQ haven't been matched yet" for the reason I mentioned above. All the same, there's nothing wrong with thinking that Marciano would mix it in with bigger men but not Kovalev. They're two completely different fighters.
There's more to it than that I suspect. Sounds personal. He's ran with that comment I made way back & took it way over the rainbow. Jokes on him tho.
I think he's just taking this "modern vs old timer" or "bigger vs smaller HW" thing way Too serious, hence he really, really hated it when you mentioned Marciano among H2H best at HW history.
You're cute, water boy. You think you mean something to me, but I just remember what most frequent posters post about on meaningful issues. You're too stupid to understand people who have a good memory. And too stupid to follow along with your own line of thought, hence all the when did I say that comments
I didn't bash the TOMATO KAN Krusher, Genius. I simply made an observation concerning his prospective move up in weight.
I honestly like you as a poster Anatolian, you are a true boxing fan and keep up with and genuinely like modern and old hws alike, which I like. We disagree on talent progression in the division, but I respect how you go about it. I'm not going to pick on you about this stuff because I respect you as a poster. Even though I disagree and think it is more logical and supportable to believe that the size increase over the years is a necessary reflection of an increased talent pool and that, like all sports with tangible records, boxing has seen an increase in performance level, and fighter such as Ali would be left behind h2h. I know my approach bothers you on this, but this is what forums are for, getting out opinions, even if you're rough about it, while hoping to elucidate along the way. However, Liquid is a junk poster, lacks your intelligence, reasoned stances, likes to spout off without any appreciable level of intelligence or facts backing him up,and I detect alot of stupidity and hypocrisy with him, so I'm having a go at him now.
