I don't know much about the guy. How high do you brits rate him. The youtube uploader daveyboyessex rates him pretty high, so I'm kind of worried for tank.
I certainly hope he can, the Walsh brothers are from my area so I will be making the trip to London to cheer him on. Although I'm making the trip more in hope than expectation. Liam is a good boxer who clearly has some very good boxing skills but there are too many question marks around his name to have any confidence going into this fight. Unlike Davis who is proven at world level with his amazing performance against Pedraza, it's a big ask for Walsh but it's also a risky first defence for Davis.
I'm worried that Tank is overlooking Walsh like most people are. Underestimating an undefeated boxer who has been doing this his whole life is dangerous.
That's what I was thinking with all this premature talk about a fight against Broner, he's got a tough fight against his mandatory on away soil to get past first. I do think a lot of Americans underestimate European fighters they have never heard of before, like they can't be that good if they have never made it to American TV before.
So long as Davies doesn't go in expecting an easy night, then he should take this. Walsh is pretty decent and looked good against Klimov. I'm unsure if he's any better then Pedraza though. I like Walsh though, so I hope he pulls it off
Toe to toe Davies wins all day long but if Liam boxes and plays smart I think this will be one of the great British nights of boxing. Liam on very close points decision or a draw. The referee will be key to this too as if he keeps breaking it up then Liam has a chance but get a referee who lets them get on with it then unless Liam holds a lot he may get tagged. I'm still with Liam becoming world champ!
Whats the background to this? Seems like a big risk sending a young lad into a partisan British boxing ring for a first defence. Was this planned or did TMT simply loose the purse bid?
Going off davies last fight he is a world class operator and will take some beating. Walsh is a underrated fighter and unheard of outside of the hard-core fans. If Davies can beat an undefeated world level fighter in his back yard for his first defence that would be some statement. Toughest fight any of them have had.
Walsh is a domestic level hillbilly bum whose gonna get sparked via an Uppercut inside three rounds. Then Floyd and his boys will slap up his inbred looking brothers.
