Perhaps, but I think you picked Rigo to win didn't you? So I guess you have to give him credit really... In regard to OP - doubt he makes Mikey quit to be honest. I think he likely wins though
Geez, pound for pound number one and multiple records in ten fights. Let’s not get carried away though.
I used to like Mikey a lot, but his career management has really disappointed me. Not just the long layoff. He had the chance to fight his pick of Cotto, Linares or Easter Jr next. All excellent fights. Next thing I hear is that he wants Figueroa Jr instead and even that is not confirmed?!? That being said, he's still a really good boxer with good power, and would be Lomachenko's best opponent. But it's hard to pick against Lomachenko, so I won't!
I want to see Jorge take on Loma next. It's a logical fight that should be easy to make that pits two of the sport's elite skill sets against each other. Mikey is being Mikey and wasting his time not making the big fights so no point in hanging around for him. Loma is better on to crack on with his own career and then when Mikey wants to get serious, make the fight then.
Mikey Garcia is sorta like a bigger version of Rigo except not as defensively good. like Rigo, Garcia has low output and likes to counter punch & wait for that perfect KO shot which stylistically won't work well for him vs Loma, imo. Stylistically, Loma beats Garcia.
I like both guys and can see Lomo breaking Garcia down mid rounds but Garcia would not quit Lomo by wide UD
That's what I thought pre-Broner. Now I know Broner isn't some elite talent but I thought his style would pose some issues for a counter puncher like Mikey. But mikey utterly dominated him. Still favor Loma but Garcia is better than I thought.
Mikey has always done well, nothing outstanding that screams FHOF to just me, and I think he gives Lomo some issues early on with his reflexes and his ability to adapt so quickly. The only question mark that can be sort of drawn is when he faced Salido but I don’t feel he would of quit but he was struggling
Loma may be reluctant to throw the flurries that have made guys quit against a bigger guy who has the power to knock him out.
