Even with his age I think he still has a good chance. Like the only real challenges left for him at 135 are Shakur and Tank. Plus the WBO is vacant, so he can beat up Keyshawn or someone like that for the belt
He can't beat Shakur at this point. Period. And if he's starting to slip, Tank is a very dangerous fight (he's faster and a harder hitter than Teo)
I think Loma loses to Shakur because even if he wins like he did against Haney, Bob will screw him. I really want to see Tank vs Loma before Loma is too old but I think Tank knocks him out.
Anyone with an ounce of sense knows Lomachenko is actually undisputed. Haney needs to grow a pair, stop rehydrating to 165lbs and making 140lbers look small, and give Loma his rightful rematch
Realistically... Probably not. He's good enough, or thereabouts, but there's too much ducking going on to get the fights made
It's highly doubtful that Loma would be able to secure all of the matchups necessary to unify. Likewise, I have my doubts about his ability to "run the table" in what is undoubtedly the twilight of his career against younger, high quality opposition. Do I think he could still outpoint Stevenson and Tank? Yes. Do I think he could do it back to back? No. Beating either at this juncture would likely exhaust his remaining physical resources. Equally important, I have reservations whether Loma could even earn a decision on the cards against opponents like Stevenson and Tank given the latter's relative advantages in marketability (Tank) and likely promotional push (Stevenson).
Hence why the Haney-Loma decision was so unfortunate. It robbed the Ukrainian of a legacy cementing win.
Yupp he's name would have been forever in the history books if he been given the decision. AND he could have easily retire afterwards after achieving his dream of being undisputed champ
People with 20 fights don't get to have storybook retirements. If Loma had beaten neophyte Haney, he'd just be the guy that beat the guy who actually did the work of unifying the belts.
"did the work of unifying the belts" Dude he beat only one man to be undisputed. Loma and Teo were the ones actually collecting them belts in the first place. Haney had the EASIEST route to become undisputed
