Can Loma take Lopez's best shot?

Lopez won't be able to land anything hard unless he gets lucky. He certainly won't be able to load up and land anything devastating.

 

I'd keep this fight at range & box to a decision. Don't get into a tear up with the possibility of cuts or injury. Disciplined, emotionless performance is how I'd like to see Loma fight.

 

Tank is a loser

 

Nobody can take a flush shut from Teo, those punches are usually deflected by some %. Loma is too perfect to get caught clean by a full power-shot. Anything over 800 Psi can drop him, which means any full punch by Teo that catches him in a mental-pause or footwork error.

Floyd Mayweather frustrating career (for those who wanted to see him get caught clean) is a good example, he never got caught by anything over 800psi, possibly Shane Mosley poured most of that punch into him, the Zab fast punches connected but barely got over 800psi.

When a boxer defense network is gone, its the time when any boxer can transfer full or near-full power-punches. Loma defense is still perfect, radar, speed and footwork, he sees everything coming and has counter measures. Teo will probably try to shut-down Loma early...We will find out out how Loma reacts, Linares fight gave us an idea on what might happen

 

Mosley punch was an average 5'08" punch, its his skills & narcissistic ambitions that allowed him to connect with that historic punch. Lots of serotonin and other primate juices were released instantly worldwide as Mosley landed that one. If it was a taller Welter puncher (Felix Trinidad, Thomas Hearns or SRR) Mayweather might have been a bit more hurt (we can't be rude/biased and assume that it would have KOed him)

 

Lopez can very definitively hurt Loma, if he were to drop him Loma's chance of survival drops considerably. Loma is such a great boxer though he'll be hard to catch,,,but not impossible. I'm picking an upset

 

Lopez, albeit a good boxer, only has the advantage of size and power. How he uses this and how the referee officiates could be important. If he tries standard boxing and counter punching I don't think he can catch Loma.

It is an intriguing fight but I don't see Lopez winning a decision.
