Lomachenko can beat Russell with his right arm cut off. This fight isn't going to be competitive in the slightest, I'm telling you now.
Gary's handspeed is getting grossly overrated on here. The kid is fast, but we're not talking about Meldrick Taylor or prime Roy Jones warp speed fast. atsch Lomo, while not as fast as Gary, is quite fast as well. The Ukranian also has a longer reach and better foot work, two attributes that will negate some of Gary's edge in handspeed. Nor is GRJ some sort of Willie Pep-like wraith defensively. He's no punching bag, to be sure, but he can be hit. Slow, technically challenged Tomayo touched GRJ more than a couple times in their first three rounds.
I honestly don't know HOW Gary thinks this fight is going to be easier than he thinks, does he think he's going to control the fight with his T-rex jab or something? Lomachenko has seen Gary's style all too often in the ams and it's through beating Gary clones (and guys deffo better than Gary) where he built his name.
The Jab is what 's working for the Argentina's of late ,especially the machine without it in his last fight he could have gotten KO.
The speed is going to beat Loma , Somebody as slow as Salido was able to land ,I see a UD for Russell.
The problem there is that GRJ is 5'4 with midget arms and poor footwork, and a very orthodox style. Name a fighter that Salido hasn't been able to land on? When punches are being thrown from every angle to every part of the body some are going to land, and Salido only landed 2-3 clean punches for the whole fight against Lomachenko. Defensively no one has been better against Salido than Lomachenko was. GRJ won't be able to land anything.
Salido has 12 losses ,The problem with Loma is his camp and lack of expertise in the big leagues. Your corner helps you win fights ,its a totally different game and why do people keep thinking that Loma has a lot of power ,he wasn't knocking out fighters in the amateurs. GRJ by a wide UD. Again I say this Kid Loma will be on the retirement block after two years or 10 fights whichever come first.:fire
Name a fighter in the amateurs who knocked his opponents down or gave eight counts as consistently as Lomachenko did? GGG didn't, Rigo didn't. And Salido's losses came early in his career, learn boxing a bit more. I can't wait for this fight, the aftermath is going to be funny :yep
I've seen him beat extremely fast fighters in the amateurs, especially considering it was over three rounds and the amateurs that he fought were elite and fast, fencing style. That's not fair on Salido to say 12 losses and use that as if it means anything. Most of those losses were when he was in his mid teens, otherwise the losses were to elites and an ATG in Gamboa, Garcia and JMM, with the exception of a loss which he avenged later. But I agree with the part about the corner, and completely disagree with you where Loma's power is concerned. Loma legit hurt Salido. Salido gets knocked out down all the fuccking time but it doesn't hurt him. Salido said Loma legit hurt him in the 12th and was the best pure boxer he ever faced, yet Loma didn't even fight as an established pro in that fight. I remember counting that in 29 amateur fights at the world, olympic and wsb level, he knocked down or knocked out his opponents 18 times.
