Do you think he has potential to surpass Ali and Sugar Ray? I believe he is capable but he will have to perhaps move up as high as 147, he is for me the most skillful boxer ever However I don't know if the current crop of boxers are good enough to make him TBE, even if he beats all of them

Between Crawford, Garcia, and Spence there's plenty of talent to make him TBE....

I don't think he has enough time in his pro career for that

Hmmm, 5 years on top of his game, he could always change his style and maybe drag out 7-8 years if he fights defensively for the last 2-3 years, could slot in 20 fights easily which is plenty, on the other hand Arum could slow him down in achieving true greatness.

NO..... NEVER! The internal power structure that runs this sport does not want a foreign fighter gaining that type of acclaim. He already got the royal screw job vs Salido and is currently being avoided for unifications and cannot land a title fight at 135 due to GBP keeping their guy away from him.

Arum can only do so much but if the other power players collude against Loma which they are doing then all Loma can do is age and win the fights this corrupt sport gives him.

If he beats Garcia , Crawford, Spence and Canelo he might have a claim for top 100.

Exactly. Actually not getting that Linares fight was HUGE blow to his career. It was such a chance to get real recognition... :ohno
He's 30 years old already, his body will just be unable for three fights a year soon. Also, his English doesn't get better at all, it's even deteriorating.

Yeah, then if he moved on to BJS, GGG, GG, Kovalev, Usyk, Gassiev and AJ he might be considered top 50.

if you include his amateur record into the arugment it is possible for him to become top 10. and i stated not to long ago "lomachenko will go down as prob the greatest fighter ill ever get to witness after his career is finished" its a big call but i still stand by it.

It’s hard to even say yes because the greats from the past did some incredible things and I’m not sure he would even have the competition.

To be the greatest of this generation he would have to clean out 135. beat Garcia at 140 but ultimately a fight with Crawford, Spence or Thurman would be the the biggest mountain to climb.

He has already said Crawford was to big for him and it would be suicide And that was before Crawford moved up so I can’t imagine he would fight fully fledged 147lber like Thurman or Spence either.

These next 2 or 3 years will define him, he is just entering his prime right now. If he doesn't face the best now, then he can't be considered in the best ever. He's one of the best, if not the best we've ever seen, when you look at what he's done to his opponents. But when 90% of your opponents are average and not really elite level (Maybe Rigo could be counted as that, but the rest are average at best) then it's easy to look good against them.

There's no doubt, Loma is truly elite. Performances aren't everything though. Names are important too. That is a criticism from some of the greatest fighters we've seen, they haven't fought enough of the very best, they just looked good against easy opponents. And they've also got to be able to take challenges.

So with all that in mind if Loma does the following, he's be considered top 30 all-time in my book at the very least:
    -Beats Linares
    -Beats Garcia
-Has titles in 3 or 4 divisions
-Beats Gervontaa (Yes Gervonta isn't anywhere near Loma's level, but it would still be considered a defining fight, remember..he's basically fighting Floyd when he fights Gervonta, Floyd controls him like a puppet)
-Wins a title at welterweight, so beating spence, thurman or Horn (Probably crawford by the time Loma gets to welter).
-Beats 2 or 3 world level fighters at older age

If he does all that, he's definitely in the hall of fame at the very least. Can he become the best ever? Probably not. If his next 10-15 fights are all against the very, very best, then maybe he can be up there. I'll tell you what though, if he beats spence, a guy who is clearly far bigger and far more physically strong, that would be one hell of an achievement and that would really boost his case in being a top 10 all-time fighter for me.

spence is a light middle, way to big, weight cutter BIGTIME . Garcia is a con man cherry picking, so it leaves Crawford, who again is to big really also.
