Its looking more and more like he will go out like joe calzaghe, very good boxer but lacked career defining wins vs great fighters. Imo i would favor prime Roberto Duran,Pacquiao, mosley, whitaker, marquez,Corrales,Oscar, salido and mayweather to beat him.

Actually if he beat Garcia , Crawford, Spence and Canelo he'd be a lock for top 50 but it will never happen.

Best and greatest have different meanings. I can give 2 examples of boxers who were better than they were greater. Roy Jones is one of the best ever and possibly the only fighter who could have legitimately bettered Sugar Ray. No way is he greater than SRR because he lacked career defining opponents. The other is Ricardo Lopez. He is as close to perfection as I have ever seen but because he was a little guy and again lacking career defining opponents you will rarely see him inside like about 40 on the goat lists. Goat includes achievement, skill, resume and longevity. With boat you can only consider who the best boxer was on his best form. Both of these guys would be top 5 of the best ever.

You need a US passport for that, and at least some of your bigger fights had to be broadcasted in black and white... so, no!

i don't think his resume, come the end, will warrant that title, but based on his skills, i dont think i've seen anyone like him or ever will again.

His nickname is 'The Matrix' for a reason. There will be no matrices, only Loma. His technical ability makes others pale by comparison. His methodology is more advanced than the fighters that have come before him. It's unfair to compare him to a child-like fighter with an infantile ego. Unfortunately "the matrix" can only be appreciated by the able-minded.

really not remotely true. joe challenged for his first legit world title in his 3rd last smw fight? or 2nd last. NOMAS did in his 2nd.

Nomas beat an elite and won a major title in his 20s as a novice. joe won his at 34 as a vet.

NOmas has more names already than joe ever had.

    they are opposites.

He might end up with what? 25 total fights? That's no where near enough fights to be considered
an ATG. He has 11 pro bouts now and he is 30 yrs old. If he fights two times a year till he's 35
that would be only 21 total bouts. MAYBE and ONLY if every single one of his remaining 10 bouts is
a super bout vs incredible competition, and ONLY IF he moves up a couple weight divisions and wins
    belts.

But that's not going to happen. I realize today's boxers don't fight very much but every boxer considered to be an ATG had at least 50 bouts. Sugar Ray Leonard had only 40 bouts and therefore barely makes it onto ATG lists.

Lomo started out as a pro too late to be considered an ATG. That's all there is to this conversation.

No he's already 30. The sport will recognize him for his work in the pros. Even if he fights 4 times a year for the next 5 years he will have less than 35 matches. That isn't a lot when you compare him to fighters that have literally 4x as many fights. Then we have to go into the quality of his wins. Right now his best wins are Rigo and Walters. Neither of those says ATG. On the horizon we have Mikey Garcia and Jorge Linares. Still not cracking the top 10 with those.

He's lucky if he tops Pacquiao's legacy. And that isn't a slight to either maa; Pacquiao has a GREAT place in history in the sport. It's just that we're talking about an incredibly high standard here that you're simply just not going to match in this era.

I don't think so even though he is definitely one of the most talented I've ever seen. I just don't see it happening. There probably won't be the opportunities to beat the type of opponents required. He can be the greatest of his generation and one of the greatest of all time though.
