Lopez hasnt beat anyone good other than de leon yet, but i think hes just on the cusp of superstardom. Lueveno is a very good fighter, I think a win over him would project lopez into super stardom, after a few good fights gamboa, cabellero, john. I think he would surpess cotto both in terms of accomplishments and fan's. I think lopez can attract more fans then cotto and his dull personality.....

I take lopez by ud vs lueveno in a very tough and maybe contreversial fight. What do you guys think?

me too. Cotto had a fun style to watch but he was always limited and his personality was boring as hell. Maybe lopez can inject some life into this sport :hey

Add Gamboa to his win's & then we can talk headliner of PPV's.

Yeah i did, when he was a super flyweight and not shot. That fight was terrible to watch :-(. Gerry has heart, but that wasnt an elite fighter in their, that was a shot version of a fighter whos best days were at a lower weightclass getting beaten up by a younger bigger fighter

No doubt about it. Who else is there? PR boxing isn't where it used to be.

...What? Shot? Super Flyweight only? He was WBO Bantamweight titlist-only a few pounds under Lopez- when they fought. He's a 2009 Bantamweight champion. Shot? He's going into a title eliminator in January. Shot? What?

At LEAST. Lopez has a ways to go before he enters the discussion on THAT level, as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't pay to see him, that's for sure.

dude is 37 and took a bad beatdown from lopez. You have to admit his best days are behind him, and he looked like total **** in that fight

Best days behind him? Sure, not in his prime. Looked like total ****? Not to me. Consider the three straight first-round knockout wins Lopez came off of and this guy stood toe to toe with him for nine rounds and Roach stopped it. He could've lasted as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad Roach stopped it but Penalosa's performance was impressive considering the opponent and the fate's of that opponent's last three opponents. Juanma knew he'd been in a fight, don't kid yourself. Past his prime and not having been in his preferred weight class? Fine. Shot?...Not by a long shot. :good And to suggest that he wasn't even a GOOD fighter/fight for Juanma. No, can't agree in the slightest there. That was extremely valuable experience for Lopez.

Id be more impressed if he chose to fight Caballero instead of Luevano. But hell, struggling with the SBW limit might be true at all. If he smacks Luevano's ass in a devastating fashion..then i'll be convinced that he looked lethargic in his last few fights cause he was weight drained

I wanted to see him fight Cab too. After all that smack talk from Cab, plus the unification, it would make his SBW career so much more meaningful.

  14. Lopez was hanging on for dear life against Mtagwa. I don't see super stardom in his future.

Not too long ago, Quintana-Cintron-Cotto were a 3 headed PR monster in the Welterweight monster.

    Ivan Calderon people?
Cotto is still top 3 welterweight.

Keep in mind this is an island of 3.8 million people.
