Can making boxing a scholastic sport bring it back to where it was?

I think this a brilliant idea. I read you thread, then read other comments. I started to think about what sport has given me, (i play soccer), good health and fitness, self-esteem, confidence, self-actualization, education, helped build lifelong relationships, travel the whole world seeing different countries, different cultures, expierencing different languages, different climates, developing communication skilles, provide an income. All these things are attainable, i am not an amazingly talented soccer player, i am good and realized what i could get out of the sport, and this is what kids could do with boxing being in schools, i think it would tap into a massive breading ground of talent. Im from England, but live in texas, it would be a great idea for every country in the world to have boxing in the school system, but maybe as an option, not mandatory. I have been boxing for awhile, and it has built my confidence, gave me added conditioning. I think it toughens people up and i do not believe that can ever be a bad thing.
