Whatever you want to pick at, you seriously have to recognize the distinction here. One fight with DLH is not even compareable to Mayweather's cherry picking streak from 2003-2007.

 

I am not a Mayweather groupie/fanboy/hugger so you can attack him all you want thinking I am one but that's not the case. Mayweather has deserved most of the **** he's received for going after the money fights. But when Margarito goes for the same fight, and people give him a little **** about, everybody all of a sudden is a hater and Margarito deserves this and all that ****. But if he truly is the warrior/gladiator that he is, then he should fight Williams or Clottey and forget De La Hoya. If he wants to go for DLH fine, he deserves a money fight. But don't say money aint everything, and all the other fans of his saying he only fights the best.

I'm not going to search through pages of threads looking for proof for you, but why don't you look for posts by bigtime9 - a guaranteed PBF nuthugger if ever there was one. I'm sure you'll find some posts by him defending PBF's decision to fight DLH and also chase a rematch with him.

Here's another point - all these people who hail PBFs '5 division champ' status - if the DLH fight was just for the $$$, why is that 5th belt important enough to be claimed in his achievements?

Margarito could have fought Cotto last year for a career high payday, However his mandotory Williams and haters alike started to talk **** about the man, so what did Margarito do? rather than to let fans think he is ducking someone he fought the man.
Sure he lost his payday was put on hold but he still took less money than he could have made with Cotto, and had to re establish himself after that loss in which he did, so in reality the man doesnt deserve to get a BIG payday, He ****ing earned it there is a big difference.
Margarito took the steps to prove he fears and ducks no man, took less money to prove it, had a minor set back and over came that, he has the right to call out the likes of DLH, on the other hand When has Floyd ever faced a mandotory? Not once!! thats a fact, yet its acceptable that he cherry pick and make loads of money when he is not an eye pleasing fighter to watch, he doesnt sell out arenas or do huge numbers on PPV, the only time he has done well with the numbers is when there was another star with a big following on the other side of the ring.

A "promise unkept" is more acceptable than a 135 pounder going up in weight and declare a money fight personnal.

In all honesty, Floyd's been cherry picking his whole career. However, he was more than willing to fight the top guys from 130-140. 147 is where he became a pretty big draw, broke away from Arum, and started directing his own career. However, that's a different matter. I have no problem with Margo chasing a money fight with Hoya, it just doesn't look like it's going to happen. It looks more likely that he'll be fighting Clottey in Nov.

I myself was not happy with pbf's attempt at a 2nd DLH fight because it was clearly for money. It works both ways with me

 

I was for Floyd fighting Oscar the first time, but not so much in a rematch. I personally don't mind a fighter fighting for money...****, that's how they pay bills...and women. I wouldn't mind Tony fighting Oscar. I just hate how he acts like it's a personal ordeal, or some warriors quest. I hate also how people call Floyd a ducker, but not Tony when he's wanting to fight an even more washed up version of Oscar then Floyd did with P. Williams waitin to tap that ass again. To tell you the truth, I have no problem with him trying to fight Hoya. It's a big money fight, and it would be interesting to see. However, it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Now if Hoya did decide to fight Margo, I would probably get the fight.
