I had Pacquiao beating JMM both times, doesnt change the fact that Marquez is one of my favorite fighters. I guess that's the difference between being a Pacquiao fan and a ******* I suppose. Bias is a horrible thing.

They would all be about 15lbs heavier. I could see them all being close.

From Pacs last few wins he hasnt been over 148. Marquez is only a pound or two under that on fight night. I dont see that big of a difference.

I don't get it, give the man his fight! Fight him at any fuking weight, I guarantee you Marquez not only takes the fight, but makes it interesting. I don't think he has much of a chance at ANY weight, but all you Pac fans seem to remember those first two fights vividly. You all know the consequences if Marquez pulls off a third upset, and obviously you'd prefer Pacquiao to run instead of solidifying his ATG status with a real win over JMM.

What's the difference between a 140 Pacquiao and a 147 Pacquiao? He's still be the same no matter what weight. A one dimensional and an easy to be counter fighter, right?

Probably not at 147 and above. He would be giving up too much size to them, IMO. Pac is a better athlete than JMM, younger too, so he's fared better at the weight, by carrying up his speed and power. Not to mention, Pac hasn't faced a fighter at WW, as good as Mayweather. So, it's somewhat of an unfair comparison, based on JMM's only showing at the weight, and whom it was against. But, JMM is head and shoulders above Pac's recent opposition, in a P4P sense.

Really...this comparison has nothing do with how he would do against Pac. They are much closer in size. JMM has the advantage of having figured out Pac's rythm. He is a master counterpuncher. A smart fighter like Marquez usually improves against fighters in rematches, once he figures them out. He proved that in their fights in 2004 and 2008.

People are not calling for this fight, for no reason. It stands a chance of being VERY competitive. And that would be bad for (Top Rank) business.

Marquez doesn't have the speed, reach or athletic ability to neutralize there size and power. Cotto, Marqartio, Clottey didn't have the head or foot movement to neutralize Pac's speed. But Marquez may "possibly" have the timing, head & foot movement to neutralize Pac's speed.

Marquez stylistically doesn't match up with those guys while Pac does. Those guys don't match up stylistically with Pac while Marquez does.

If it was at 147, I'd pick Marquez to beat Margarito. Margarito sucks, fellas. He is an absolute joke and the fact that Pacquiao loaded his pockets is worthy of self-induced vomiting. Dude committed the #1 sin in all of boxing, which also happens to discount all his previous wins, and people still think he is the man and waste all their time bitching about how Mayweather is "ruining himself".

It's always been a part of boxing for champions to defend their title amongst the champion of the lower weight class. So those who say the Pac vs. JMM fight shouldn't happen were against any weight class jumps before the weight classes doubled. That is not even to mention their personal rivalry, two close ass fights that could have gone either way (but should have gone Marquez's). Seriously though, why have I not read this from others on this site before? Tell me if you read my comment and still don't agree with the fight, because it is 100% sound logic that I'd like to see try to be denied.

Oh! You so smart! Wait, who promotes Margarito?!? Oh yeah, that's right.

That's what they want you to think. They sold 700,000 w/ Clottey. They sold 1.1mil with Margarito. They will sell at least 1 mil with Marquez. The money is there, particularly on a Mexican holiday.

It is bad for (future) business, if JMM makes a fight out of it. They won't be able to say "he was bigger than me", "he is a dangerously big puncher", "he hurt Floyd Mayweather". They will have to concede that he is a very skilled opponent, who gave Pac problems, and always has...but was dominated by Pac's current nemesis. Only the hardcore fans would really consider the fact that styles make fights. But, the casuals, may not see it quite the same way.

Possibely, but at least it would be a change of pace from the styles of fighters Pac has been facing.

Theres a reason why jmm fought diaz twice and katsidis, despite margo/cotto bringing in A LOT more money.
