Hahaha. You're so stupid that in a sad attempt to make yourself look tough, you say you'll beat my ass. This right after calling me a wrinkled *****....assuming I must be really old. What your feeble brain missed is that threatening to beat up a wrinkiled old man makes you a ******, not a tough guy.

Unfortunately for you, I am anything but a wrinkled old man, and if you're in the UK, you can drop round my gym with your gloves any time you want. Or better yet, we have a White Collar boxing event coming up, you can actually show how tough you are in front of a crowd. Surely you're not just an internet ****** making threats he can't keep in real life??

Your answer to anyone above the age of 9, good one.

Prime Ali had speed which we have never seen in a big man. His foot&hand speed were dazzling, things you just can't be taught, he was born with it, along with his charisma and winning mentality.

Of course he could beat every heavyweight there ever was, based on his immaculate speed.

The problem with the post is he did lose to guys in his prime, yet we pretend he didn't. Then we take a step further and say no one in history would beat him. This further shows how greatly exaggerated Ali is, even if he is the p4p greatest, straight denial...

We are talking about his absolute prime. That was before the layoff.

The problem with that logic is we can say he did not fight a prime Liston...Liston was 32 while Ali was 10 years younger.. He lost to Norton 5 months after he beat Floyd Patterson "who was also not in his prime and was in his 20th year of boxing"

So yeah a prime Ali can beat other non prime fighters if we go with that logic..
Ali beat Archie Moore who started in 1935 and fought Ali when he was 46..

The point is saying oh Ali was not prime, but yet some of the champs he beat were not in their prime, works both ways.

And is a layoff good or bad... When it comes to a guy like Floyd,Sugar Ray Leonard,it helps him rest, but other fighters a layoff means they are rusty etc..Ali may be the greatest but we do give him a lot of leverage..

One last thing was Ali not in his prime when he lost to Joe Frazier? After he TKO Quary and forgot the other guy 6 months earlier?

I would favour Ali over anyone in the heavyweight divison in his prime.
There's simply hasn't been anyone like him since and I guess we'll have to wait a LONG LONG time before we see someone like him again.

His speed, footwork, chin, recup powers, skills, work rate, ring smarts and IQ outside of the ring would be too much.

You have a remarkably coherent grasp of the obvious, G.

I tell you that I'm positively intimidated by your astonishingly insightful grasp of the finer points of the sport and in response, you assert that I clearly have no argument to counter your claims.

    Exactly !

As I've been explaining to you for several posts now.

Compared to my humble self, you da man !

I'm at a bit of a loss here, though, Guv. I patiently explain to you that your grasp and abilities are far too lofty for me to engage, and you seem to think I am actually debating you.

Perish the thought, yer honour, Perish the thought !

Of course you have, G. And for a man who would therefore have to be somewhere well on the upper side of fifty, you don't let your years stand in the way of sounding hip and youthful, what with those puerile-sounding monickers you sprinkle in your invective (David Gaye, Pukeo, No-mere-Con etc), one might take you for a school-boy.

I can see that you keep young at heart.

Good on you, old chap !

Personally ? That's impressive. Even been to the Palace.

And laced up the gloves ? My, my. Formidable !

Ah, your psychic powers let you down, sometimes.

    Worry not, G. Nobody's perfect.

I would point out that no-one ever asserted any of the foregoing, 'cept I 'm loathe to be devastated by a rapier-like zinger of the kind you used to devastate poor HG ( post # 64 )when he raised the same point.
He'll think twice before daring to question you again !

Having perused some of your quality contributions to the forum and witnessed first-hand your clear understanding of the darker races and their relation to criminality, your insiders take on politics and the fight game, not to mention many other areas of knowledge well beyond the ken of the mere ignoranti, you can hardly blame me for resisting the urge to debate you, lest I wind up the victim of your eviscerating rejoinders like poor HerolGee and so many others you have slain in this thread.

I remember the late Emmanuel Steward said something along the lines: "His greatest quality is that he always found a way to win."
