He's only 28 but a KO like that is sure to make him more cautious and tentative if he does choose to return to the ring, which wouldn't really suit his volume-punching style. A rematch with Surace has been mentioned by some. Curious to see how everybody feels this KO loss will affect Munguia's future.
LOL this is baaad for Munguia. Surace has a record more padded than one of those Alaska King Size mattresses and a very small KO %. This content is protected It would be in his interest to make a rematch asap. Munguia can certainly beat this guy. That said maybe Surace is one of those banana peel fighters that need a big occasion to unlock their next power level and upgrade all their latent talents. If Golovkin had fought Munguia it would have been interesting
It seems like he got Ishida'd. Once your chin is cracked and even featherfists can put a dent in it then it is a slippery slope to gatekeeper status; I hope I'm wrong as I like Munguia.
Hard to find any fighters with worse KO percentages, plus coming from 160, plus being a total can. The combination of getting 1 punched ko'd by someone like that is hard to come back from, especially when you ain't that good to begin with.
I wouldn’t even bother with a rebuild for munguia just throw him in fun fights, the guy is entertaining but we’ve known for years he’s not some p4p guy.
Freak KO like Ottke vs Mundine. Come on, Jaime has shown a great chin. That punch was perfect, but perfect punches land all the time and don't have that result. Especially from a featherfisted fighter on one with a good chin.
I'll watch the guy fight again. **** happens. I wonder if he's watching tape of it this morning. That would be some tough ****.
