Usyk has been past his best since 2019? The best version of Usyk I've seen was the first AJ fight. That version of Usyk could beat cruiserweight Usyk all day. Why do you say AJ's best performance of his entire career was his second fight with Usyk? He didn't look great against Pulev or Usyk the first time, and after Usyk 2, he didn't look good against Franklin. So apparently, sandwiched between looking terrible, he had the best performances of his career? Come on. His best performances were between 2016–2018, before Ruiz killed prime AJ. Fury was past his prime too. His best performance was against Wlad in 2015. Fury looked horrible against Ngannou, so don't try to play that off. Uysk's only win against someone in their prime is Dubois, which proves his heavyweight run is overrated.

Let's compare Usyk and Inoue in 2025–2026, since Usyk was ranked #2 P4P behind Crawford and then #1 when Crawford retired, while Inoue was #3 and then #2. This shows you how overrated Usyk's achievements are.

I can tell from your tone there's nothing I can say that can change your mind. You think a 37 year old Usyk > 31 year old Usyk and you think Fury looking bad against Ngannou was indicative of his abilities and not his laziness so whatevs. Agree to disagree.

 

Why 2019? I get that his ability may have peaked in his 20s, but he was 31 years old in 2018. He didn't suddenly get worse at 34 when he fought AJ for the first time. Keep in mind the Uysk But Usyk's age is basically irrelevant because he was in his late 30s when he reached the #1 spot in the P4P rankings.

And I find it funny that you're so adamant Usyk was past his prime in 2019, stating it like it's some fact, when you claim Fury was close to his prime self in the Usyk fights at 36 years old. Also, the Ngannou fight exposed many habits of Fury that are detrimental to him. Yes, he didn't prepare to the fullest, but it showed massive flaws.

You cannot pretend the form of a fighter before and after a fight doesn't impact the quality of a win. This is why Dubois and Briedis are Usyk's best wins.
