Diaz was caught clean by the wide looping shots of both Cyborg and Daley so how do you think the surgical striking of GSP will affect him? Diaz beats a majority of opposition on endurance. Georges St. Pierre will pick him apart and throw in a few takedowns and maintain control.

Yes he can. GSP hasnt fought anyone with as good as striking or Jiujitsu as Nick Diaz besides BJ Penn but Diaz has size, mental strength and much better stamina then Penn.

I don't care what Dana does to hype this, he's not fooling me. This is a huge step up for Diaz. I'm question whether he can even beat Diego. I want to see Diaz vs Fitch or Kos and then maybe I'll get interested in seeing him vs GSP.

yea but he has look good and he did beat a top 10 welterweight in paul daley. He got rocked in that fight but he was able to recover. GSP doesn't have the power of daley so i could see diaz walking thru his shots.

I do think gsp will try to take this fight to the ground but diaz has a pretty good ground game so he should be ok.

LMAO @ anybody who thinks will be even remotely competitive. This is the easiest possible match for someone like St-Pierre.Diaz has proven time and time again that he is simply out of his depth with a truly strong grappler.Joe Riggs,Diego Sanchez and Karo Parisyan showed just how pitiful Diaz and his takedown defense is.Since then,Diaz has been matched very carefully and has looked good because of the opponents that he's been in the ring with.

Guys like Koscheck,Fitch and even Anthony Johnson would all beat Diaz quite easily. You don't need someone as dominant and established as Georges St-Pierre to expose Diaz and his limitations. These guys would nullify both Diaz's lame,fly-swatting striking and his Jiu Jitsu(remember, its only gay if you make eye-contact).

Would you not consider Thiago Alves a much better striker than Diaz?

    Diaz wouldn't win a round.

I don't think Diaz beats Fitch, Penn, Alves or Koscheck either.

Actually I think Kampmann would beat him.

Alves is a better 'striker', taking his kicking and kneeing abilities into account, but Diaz is a much better pure boxer. Alves's boxing has never impressed me. He's a dangerous striker, but when (as fights often do) it turns into a stand-up boxing fight, Diaz is much better IMO.

I'm guessing the ridiculous underrating of Diaz on this thread so far is on account of him not fighting for the UFC, so people have this mental block that non-UFC fighters can't beat UFC fighters. I hope Diaz comes back to the UFC soon, as he will surprise these people. He's a better fighter now than he was in the UFC last time, that's for sure.

I tend to overrate non UFC fighters. UFC has most of the best welterweights in the world. Diaz has not fought a top 10 guy at the weight during his recent run.

Exactly. People tend to build up GSP's opponent and then.... surprise! He wins again convincingly...

Nick Diaz recently fought and beat top 10 welterweight Paul Daley.

He's clearly the best WW in the world

He could hve a FOTY w Diaz if he chose to for once abandon his boring safety at all costs strategy

And - after getting booed in his home country - he know he needs to step up the excitement

There's not a WW around better suited to make a hell of a fight than Diaz

I get the feeling there will be a lot of pressure on GSP - people buying his groceries who tell him he needs to make this one count
