And be undisputed champion in 5-7 years? At least do you think he could be in the top 3? Can a normal sized cruiserweights fare well against SHW without being a technical genius like Usyk?
Nah. The thing about Usyk is that he never really relied on power, but boxing genius and skill. Opetaia seems more reliant on power and Cruisers often don't carry their power up to heavyweight well. Opetaia would be better served staying Crusier and maybe moving down to LHW to fight bivol.
You have examples of Cruisers bring massive punchers at CW and featherfisted at HW? What about Haye for example?
It's hard to say - Breidis is teak-tough, and hits really hard, so might just be that Breidis was a tough style match up for Opetaia. But the way he faded late in both might mean he will have similar problems late against fighters that can take his power.
Earnie Shavers 210 lb Evander Holyfield ex cruiser David Haye ex cruiser Herbie Hide ex cruiser Deontay Wilder 210-220lb Mike Tyson at his best under 220lb Rocky Marciano 184-185lb!!!! Joe Louis 200 - 215 in his prime i could go on but the hardest punchers with have seen mixed with speed and timing have been from small heavyweights or ex cruisers?
I don't think so. Briedis, at 39 and after some two years out of the ring, almost knocked him out. That would have never happened to Usyk against Briedis or anyone else. Opetaia is simply not on Usyk's level in general. He also has quite a different personality which may or may not be a factor in his development. I appreciate that many people like him, but I just get all sorts of wrong vibes from him. He has this very moody, angry personality which I find rather unlikable. Time will tell if his personality will help him or hinder him in the long run.
Opetaia needs to stay at cruiser. There are some big LHW’s he can mix it with and some names in Britain he could unify with.
Yeah, but that's because Usyk doesn't really have any power to rely on. We all know the stories that came from his nutritionist and that cannot be denied.
