Duran vs Benitez was at 154, and was not 'prime' Duran.

What's taboo about it? Duran would slip under everything and completely work him over, both inside and mid-range, 12 or 15. Oscar isn't keeping him on the end of jack ****.

Duran is a bit too complete. He moves better than De La Hoya, he's a savage, and he's got two very, very good hands.

Oscar is more upright, he's utterly dependent on his jab and his big left hook. It's his whole offense. He was a stud as a technician, but only when in control; He got worse the more things devolved(When Mosley made it ugly, Oscar looked like a club fighter swinging from the hips), and he had ZERO right until late in his career.

Duran would make it ugly, he'd make it less then clean, and Oscar would need more than his jab, hook, and speed to right the ship; He'd need a big right hand, too, and he'd need to counter to keep Duran honest.

I seriously doubt Duran wins the first two rounds. Oscar might even take the first three or four, off the speed, the skills, and the jab. But Duran was a master at making a fight exactly what he wanted and Oscar lacked the well rounded toolset and, most importantly, the great composure, to do anything about it.

    Why is it tabboo ?

As excellent a fighter as De La Hoya was,Duran was a force of nature the night he beat Sugar Ray Leonard in Montreal. Duran by decision.

Considering Oscar's ability to take a punch, yeah, it's going to be rather excessive. He's not going to be able to keep Duran in the slot, and once he gets inside Oscar's punching range he's going to get terribly sloppy punching downward at a smaller target who won't stay put and is shifty and fluid as all hell with his movement. Duran isn't in there just to make you miss. I can picture Oscar damn near spread eagled and looking completely discombulated at the terribly unpredictable punishment being dished out to him. :rofl A bit later he'll be biting on the feints and eating right hands and left hooks from distance.

Send the question to Carlos Palomino and see what his answer would be.

I am going to log off for about two days (or two weeks whichever is safer) the second I post this....I think DLH gives him a great fight....If forced to fall of the fence I will give a slim decision victory vote to DLH....Over 12 anyway.
