This theory that Duran would demolish Delahoya is a little overrated. Oscar still had a nice counter left and Duran would not just rush in.

I would pick Duran, for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that the only way I see Oscar winning is if the fight is on the outside, would that be a likely scenario? I don't think so.

So if Oscar can't keep Duran on the outside with his jab, which I think most agree isn't likely, then what are Oscar's options?

I just watched his fight with JCC and he's got a pretty good upper cut, but honestly if Duran's on the inside you're pretty much going to have to KO him to get him to stop. There are really only two options to deal with Duran. One is to have the power of Hearns to KO him while he's trying to get in the inside, and the other option is movement, movement, movement(with enough offensive thrown in to get a decision). I don't think Oscar is particular great at either of these options. He's more of a fighter who wants to bomb you out with his left hook, or upper cut and has a good jab. But those set of skills aren't enough to beat Duran with.

Im not prolonging anything Philly, dont be a smartass...lol..But I do agree with you, unless there is some kind of unseen weakness a stoppage within 6 isnt very likely. Either way this would have been one for the books my man.

DLH is almost everyone's underdog pick, simply because most favor Duran. So be defination that makes OLH okay..wait for it..." the underdog"

when did Duran easily beat a great fighter or elite? Not often. If Duran walked through Benitez or Hearns and Leonard I would say ok he would beat Delahoya easily. And Oscar has a good jab and is quick, which is Roberto's achilles.

Everyone just assumes DLH would be the underdog, but what if its a title defense where DLH is WW champion, then whos favored?

That was not walking though anyone. He didnt stop Ray. Ray fighting his fight and Duran not stopping him. Which actually gave Ray confidence. Ray said after " I fought this man at his own fight and he couldn't stop me! I knew if I fought my fight I win easily". I don't think Ray walked through Leonard at all.

People who wager on sports not just boxing. Don't always make their bets based on anything other than who they are fans of. Both Duran and De La Hoya have huge fan bases. Who will bet on their man. Thus effecting the odds.
