There absolutely is better testing than what boxing currently has.

The problem is that even the best testing is easy to beat unless the athlete (or trainer) is stupid and/or sloppy, and the best testing is significantly more expensive. Significantly. And that money's got to come from somewhere.

Is it worth taking more money out of boxers' pockets (because ultimately, any increase in overhead for the promoters will be reflected in fighters' purses) to put up an illusion to fans that the best testing=unbeatable testing?

Given how many fans seem to ignore that difference, it may well be worth it. I know alot of naive people when it comes to PED use in NFL football that point to their testing policy as being a deterrent, so the average Joe Blow might fall for it in boxing, too.

I'm a realist. My opinion is that I don't like taking money out of fighters' pockets for an illusion that won't and can't accomplish its objective. At most it's going to cause guys to switch what they currently use. It's a problem that's never going to be solved and sports fans need to wake up and realize that not every problem's got a magical fix that just isn't used because of incompetence. You can waste $50 million in testing just like WADA has and sports will still be riddled with PED's. Better to get over it, accept the reality of sports in the 21st century for what it is, and allocate those resources towards a different endeavor- like fighters' benefits.

I'm pretty sure that PEDs have been rife in boxing for decades, especially with the slack testing. I've lost all interest in athletics because it's apparent that so many athletes are on something, and what's the point of watching if you don't know who's playing fair? At least boxing offers more than the quickest time or the longest distance and quite often the actual result is the least memorable aspect of a fight. I'd still follow boxing if I knew for a fact that everyone was on PEDs to be honest. At least that way it would be fair.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Pac and every other elite boxer was on PEDs, but I do object to the likes of the Mayweathers stating it as fact with zero proof and their fans lapping it up like it's Gospel. At this point in time, it's no more certain that Pac is on PEDs than any other boxer (including Floyd) who has never tested positive. As others have pointed, the people that make this stuff will ALWAYS be ahead of the testers, no matter how stringent the testing is. They can't look for something they don't know about.

Yea... um I'm sure that highest levels of random drug testing has completely erased doping from Cycling just like it will here and in every other sport.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2sYyV9Wa0k[/ame] 2:26 listen to Conte speak. Victor Conte says that Creams and Gels will clear the system in a day. Oral PED's clear the system in 4 to 5 days and Water Based Testosterone clears the system in 10 days. Boxing is dirty and will continue to be dirty. Pacquiao is dirty and Floyd may be as well along with tons of other boxers.

If you followed cycling, the riders need to be using the **** that day to get the real benefits. Take Floyd Landis. The day he got busted, he was behind 15 minutes or some **** the day before. He slapped on his steroid patch, cuz that's what they use now, not creams etc, cuz they can test for THG, the stuff Balco made.

Anyways, back to Landis, with a dose of testosterone, he was superman and not only won but killed everyone. Well, a week later (when the results came back) his ass was busted. Btw, they test after every race, the top 10 riders, etc. Steroids only give you the big ass superman gains when yer on them.

What makes people think it left, or isn't all around the sport right now?

Professional sports at a high level, worth millions and millions of dollars.

"No way PEDs are in it right now"

    Sure.
