His southpaw stance will help against the shoulder roll. I tried the shoulder roll to a southpaw the other day in sparring, my god I didnt know it was so open to the southpaw straight left and hook. Basically, the blind spot which you hide with your shoulder, is not so blind to the southpaw anymore because of the position and angle.
