Hey he asked what needs to be done :)

For Pac to claim #1 he would have had to clear every single name out available to him starting from 112 when he first won his championship all the way to 135. Unfortunately he didnt and theres not enough big names at 135 to make up for it (Guz, JMM & Campbell) so he needs to do something drastic and thats beat Joe, a fellow ATG at a MUCH higher weight class.

Beating margo wont do, Margo really is nothing when it comes to rating fighters on top 10 ATG basis.

Sure he can just keep beat ATG's and future HOFer's like he has done, the problem is he is running out of great fighters to beat.

Nope, in my opinion, i don't see it happenin. He COULD attempt it but, at 154 he'd be facing much bigger/taller guys and much harder punchers. It would be too much for pac

apologies for being a bit crass - but calxzaghe, although a class fighter, has never beatean a proven world class fighter in his prime.

so how can he be a benchmark for other world class fighters?

If he beats Hatton, DLH, Mayweather, Margarito, Pavlik, Calzaghe, David Haye and Vlad then Ray Rabinson will let him hold his jock-strap; thats as near to the greatest as he is gonna get.

NB: I have nothing against Pac; damn good fighter in this generation, but he just doesn't have the names (present or future), record (present or future) or style/package (present or future - no matter how Roach has worked on him) to be mentioned alongside the true ATG's.

    Err, I dunno.

Margarito would boost him no end, because of styles. It would look like take your kid to work day at the press conference. Pacquiao can only fight one way, same with Margarito. It would be a war, and a short one, and of course its pretty unrealistic.

If Pacquiao somehow won that, I would be amazed and would have to boost him.

So you dont think a former 106lb fighter beating the current Ring LHW champ, recognised no.2 p4p and arguably the greatest SMW of all time is such a great feat?

Hey yo, Uncle Paulie respects the hell out of da Pac but he ain't the close to the best and would need to clear out 135/140/147 to be put at #1.

Can he ? Well yes he can . . . the possibility is always there. It depends on how his team would stir his career.

Unify at 135 and 140 and get the ring Belts on both divisions (aside from being a 5 divisional Champ) and he'll fit for that position in boxing history. Not to mention that he is the smallest fighter to accomplish such.

    . . . . well just my opinion. :deal
