timing is nothing without speed...you got great timing but you're too slow to execute a punch or evade a punch....like i said earlier, this aint just about plain speed you have take consideration of style, movement etc....

ok, you said jmm have decent handspeed but has great timing ang gave pac fits....imagine jmm with speed like pbf has....catch my drift???

Depending on the range, Mayweather will be able to beat Pac to the punch because of his timing, hand speed, and reach. If Pac has to try and jump in and Mayweather comes straight down the pipe with the right hand Mayweather again depending on the range will be able to land first.

Oh, of course speed is also important. Floyd and Pac both have a combination of speed and timing, which makes them so dangerous. I was just pointing out that both fighters are around the same level of speed -- there isn't a big gap between them in this area, so I think it would be wise to look at the other factors too. I agree that the ideal combination is to have both timing and speed at a high level...I just think that timing doesn't get discussed as much as speed, so it's always important to avoid underrating it when considering these match ups.

Pac will sure have problems with Floyd if Floyd decides to step up.

But Id also like to see how Floyd reacts from getting hit the most of his career.

first off, that aint pbf's style...punching in bunches....and amir aint remotely as skilled or has the timing of a jmm, let alone pbf....

roach would have to find a weakness in pbf that pac can exploit like what he did to hatton and the others....they aint gonna train for blinding speed, they will train for habits that pbf does in the ring and neutralize them....

Floyd has great timing, but Pac has good cadence and angles to disrupt the timing. And yet the one-shot speed is in Floyd's favor. This is why the matchup is so scintillating.

floyd will make him look stupid. floyd doesnt waste punches like manny does. he doesnt waste energy bouncing around in the ring like manny does. he doesnt throw a lot of punches leaving himself open like manny does. he can be the aggressor or the counter puncher. pac likes to dictate the pace. so, he makes it easy for floyd to pick off shots and counter back. watch the jmm fight. jmm was the aggressor and floyd just toyed with him. when guys r aggressive with him, floyd sits in the pocket and counters the hell out of them. this fight will never happen. if it does happen, it will be when floyd is 38 yo.

I'm surprised that many people here underrate Pacquiao's "reach." He modifies the range in which he can tag his opponent through his foot speed and head movement. While Floyd uses his head movement primarily for defensive maneuvers, Pac has been able to repeatedly catch the other guy by hitting them when they think he's comfortably out of range. This happened repeatedly against DLH, where Pac kept nailing him with the jabbing left.

thats what seperates the elites from the rest...speed and timing = pinpoint accuracy....pac and floyd has both.....

Floyd gets faster as the fight goes on now. It's the way he trains, he starts slow and picks up the speed as the session goes on

That's a good question also. Floyd can neutralize Manny's speed with his timing though, and he can control Manny's work rate, but it won't be easy

Look at OSCAR standing there all flat footed. Check this video out and you will see how Floyd will move and feint with Manny when he moves. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3zhSchfLp8[/ame]
