I used to have Hagler quite a bit higher, but upon review of certain fighters, he just doesn't deserved to be ranked as highly as most would consider, at least not in my opinion. Based on footage sure, but not based on resume, which is the highest of my rating criteria.
PAc is the most explosive fighter in the sport today. I wasn't watching fights when Tyson was taking the world by storm but I imagine little Pac being the closest thing. :good:good:good
I don't know where you would rank Pac but you have to rank him ... this guy started off his career at 106 ... and won a title at 135 ... thats impressive. I would rank him w/ amoung the top non HW's in history ... he's not quite top 50 but he's not too far.
Amoung this generation's best fighters Pac would rank top 10 ... considering he started in 95 ... i'll start it from there -- he's not too far from PBF ...
Wins over other ATG in Morales and Barrera along with being a few division world champion makes him a sure candidate to top100 ATG list, somewhere inside top 50 right now is a fair score.
I know he is on the ATG list but I am not sure how high. However, he is clearly the greatest Asian fighter of all time.
Harada's resume: Wins over Eder Jofre X2(slightly past prime), Jose Medel, Pone Kingpetch(according to most accounts, he won both matches), Johnny Famechon(another robbery toward the tail end of Harada's career when well past his best weight, which would've given him titles at Flyweight, Bantamweight, and Featherweight), Hiroyuki Ebihara, Bernardo Caraballo, Dwight Hawkins, Katsutoshi Aoki, Alan Rudkin, etc. Pacquiao's resume: Wins over Marco Antonio Barrera X2(past prime), Erik Morales X2(past prime), Juan Manuel Marquez(not in my book and many others), David Diaz, Jorge Solis, Oscar Larios, Lehlohonolo Ledwaba, Chatchai Sasakul, etc. I'd say Harada holds the clear edge still.
barrera wasn't past prime in their first fight. and if pac beats campbell to unify the lightweight titles, will that be enough to already overtake harada or does pac still have to win vs. hatton @140? as it stands now, harada is a borderline 3-weight champ compared to pac being a 5-weight champ.
And? De La Hoya is a 6-weight champ, while Ray Robinson is a 2 weight champ, does that make De La Hoya greater? I said in another thread that if he unifies at LW then the argument for Pacquiao holds water. A win over Hatton would put him at the top and raise his P4P rating a fair deal, given how he rose through the weights with success at each. However, the odds of that happening in my book are slim and none. You guys see it differently though, so I'll hold it out there.
he's been there for a couple of years in my opinion... but he's jumped within a top 50 from his most recent peformances....
He had gotten to the point where he wasn't as physically capable as he used to be(hell he was at that point by the time he fought Hamed, which is one of the reasons he became a more technical boxer as opposed to his earlier brawling style). I'd say he was past his prime, or passing it, by that point in time. If you disagree with that, I think it's fair to say we can all agree that the Barrera that Pacquiao faced that night was a dead man walking. He just looked awful.
top 100 clearly, and perhaps 70ish... if he beats hatton he would be clearly top 50. Forget about hatton being overrated, he's still the top guy at 140 for years now. And pac being the guy known coming from 106, the achievement is far significant especially if he beats hatton the way he beat diaz
He's already top 30. Look who are his company in the 5 division Title holder Club??? I'm projecting him to be top 10 ATG after he retires. I'll guarantee it!!!
top 10???.... he'd have to knockout winky wright then take arthur abrahams belt at 160 to pull that off....
