I just couldn't find room for him anymore. That's not to say I think less of him as a fighter, just that I have to give other fighters their due, and based on my criteria, I can't in all good conscience rate him above any of those guys, despite the fact that he may be more impressive on film.

    11. Willie Pep
    12. Ray Leonard
    13. Pernell Whitaker

As for Ali, I've been thinking about revising his position for a while now. As of now, I just consider him the best one weight fighter ever, and he really did beat everyone there was to beat in the most dominant HW era of all time.

Next the blind will see and the lame will walk!

Pep's position can be justified although I have him above Duran. Where is Archie Moore? And you seem to have forgotten to put Burley in your top 13 :huh

He's BEEN an atg! He is an atg, no matter what happens in his career in the future.

I get annoyed when people come here and say we got nostalgia bias for fighters like SRR. The truth is, its not a case of nostalgia, its just in the span of 100 years of boxing, the best happens to be somewhere in the middle of that 100 years and not 90 years ago or the present. However when people start throwing names like Dempsey and rating him much higher than Lennox Lewis for example, then I see bias nostalgia. I go by facts and records and Lewis has achieved alot more than Dempsey...yet he is ranked lower? Same with guys like Jack Johnson.

You can throw names at me like pep, armstrong, Ali, Duran, Jofre, Wilde etc and Id agree. But alot of older names were good fighters back in their days, yet higher regarded than the best of these days? I just go by simple logic of, if a fighter is considered the best of his generation ie: Mayweather, shouldnt he be compared to the best of past generations and not the 3rd, 4th, 10th best of their generation? I see a few fighters that would be rated above Manny or PBF yet they werent even considered the best of their days... Its basically like comparing the current no.1 p4p against a guy who would be no.10 p4p in his days...you can argue his era was just that much better but thats just too subjective.

True. His wins over the big 3...Barrera, Morrales, and Marguez..pretty much solidified his status a top ATG fighter.

For those saying a win over Hatton will move him to top 50/50 ATG. lol.

Its threads like this thats shows why he should move ALOT higher than that:

Dont backtrack now. Should Pac beat Hatton, it will be defiance. As SRL said it, theres nothing greater than defiance. Winning when you shouldnt, making the impossible, possible!
