during the mayweather vs castillo fight announcer george foreman said you gotta turn the fight into a barroom brawl in order to beat floyd and that you're not going to beat floyd in a boxing match. outside of knocking floyd out i agree with foreman's assessment.

i have always thought that you have to brawl floyd, hit him anywhere you can and get dirty when needed, we all know floyd gets flustered when bum rushed. imo if you can rough floyd up and get in his head you can beat him.

we saw canelo fail by trying to box floyd and we saw maidana have success using the brawling method. given the fact that pac hits harder, quicker and has better stamina than maidana do you think this will be the best way to beat floyd and do you think pac can turn it into a barroom brawl?

Castillo and Maidana both were bigger and stronger then Floyd...and what makes you think Manny hits harder then Maidana?

Brawl wouldn't suit manny in my opinion he needs to mix up his boxing and moving and then jump in for hard shots , good mix keep floyd guessing

A fighter with limited abilities has to try and smother Floyd, fight dirty and try turning it into a brawl. This is what Maidana did and it was the strategy Robert Garcia used.

Castiloo wasn't that much of a brawl IMO, Castilli just threw a lot of punches and kept the pressure on Floyd. His reach also seemed to trouble Floyd, just as did DLH's reach.

as far as Pacquiao is concerned, it's just a totally different scenario. Maidana, Canelo and others have no choice but to try and take away Floyd's strengths by fighting dirty. Pacquiao doesn't need to make it a brawl, he has too many skills and raw physical gifts.

Why have people been so hyped about a floyd vs manny fight? and not so much when Floyd has faced any other fighter? cause Manny is so good looking? i don't think so.... Manny is probably the only fighter that has the speed (hands and feet) and raw talent to match Floyd. We've seen how talented Pacquiao is in how he has totally stunned great fighters like barrera, DLH, hatton, cotto etc.. he has the same talent as Floyd; they are two physical specimens with so much talent. They have a different style but equally as talented so this fight will come to who executes better and who is on his game more, Pacquiao has too much skill to feel like he has to fight dirty. Pac can do things that none of floyd's past fighters can do and floyd will have to use smarts to beat him.

floyd will not allow that. pac is more powerful and floyd is a very defensive boxer. if floyd will not develop power like marquez then he will try to hit and run and win on points. floyd cannot brawl with an awkward and powerful lefty. heck, he is training like hell for the first time in his career just to protect that 0.

training like hell for the first time in his career? Floyd has always trained like hell, to the point where he thinks he has overtrained in the past

i think pac has the stamina to keep the pressure going for 12 rounds, something that maidana couldn't do.

He'll "gas" the same way that everyone suddenly gasses when they fight Floyd. In other words, Manny will get frustrated after eating counters and slow down. Then his fans will say that he overtrained. Then we'll see the same thing in September.
