Well the weight is an issue, they are obviously making it 145 for a reason, because they probably believe Cotto won't be 100%. If he is, or he comes in at 147 and normal weight on the night, then massive, massive credit. It will be a sensational win.

 

Id give Pac a chance at MW...how many here thought he would be fighting for a WW title just over a year ago? Exactly.

I dont see why he oculdnt beat Spinks too. Judah knocked Spinks out, Pac is on that level of speed and power...this will be confirmed when he stops Cotto too.

 

True,i hate this catchweight bs ,i dont think Pac needed this to win and all it does is take some luster of a possible Pac win,that being said i dont think it will be much of an issue,Cotto weighed 146 for Clottey without much trouble i dont think 145 will hurt him either and come fight night he will probably have ten pounds on Pac.

This will be a great fight between two warriors.

this goes to show that pac's frame is not suited for welter not even jr. welter. hell, he even was 138 in his fight with hatton. he can make 135 if he needs to.

 

Blade you already know me he will get credit there is no weight excuse because Cotto started camp early to make sure it comes off the right way.
However if Cotto losses because Roach decided to raise issues with border line shots that are not low, then we have a problem, as long as the ref gives both men a fair fight, and Roach stays out of it and does his job, I am all good the best man will win...

However I will say just because I am rooting for Cotto, that doesnt make me a PacHater, in fact, I have been talking mad **** about Manny lately because of his ****ing groupies that come off with some crazy **** regarding the man.

He is a great fighter no doubt, but lets not make him out to be godzilla.... Keep it real.

That is exactly why they asked him to come in at this weight, they wanted 143 Cotto told him to go **** himself, so they settled for this weight which is not all that bad, Cotto has weighed in in his last fights at 146.

I am 100% confident that he will be okay in terms of the weight....
couple things on Mannys side I am worried about..

Roach demanding a stiffer low blow penalty for this fight, Sorry but the rules of the sport should not be re written based off of what a trainer says..
The ref should be allowed to do his job and make the calls as he sees fit.
The Cup of Manny pac, it will be riding pretty high come fight night, I am hoping who ever is the ref, that he makes sure that Manny brings that cup down to the legal level, and if its that custom made cup that rides up on the sides, They should instruct him to get a different cup, Hopefully the ref looks at this in the dressing room first and stops it before they come out to the ring.

Roach will also probably point out that Cottos people tend to Pinch the gloves when they glove him up... I hope he doesnt make that out to be a big issue, cus pinching the gloves really isnt a big deal.

 

Again . . . every fighter is bounded by his physical limitations . . . and Pac is not an exemption. especially now that he is just picking big money fights and on the way out to retirement.
