Why are these so-called boxing fans can't understand when he's mentioned as champion in weight classes? For those who are mouthing their superiority as boxing fans and labeling others as tards, its quite funny how they could not understand the concept.

It's not the ring title that matters, though it is respected, it is the lineal title. Now most the time the Ring champion is also the lineal champion, that's why it is respected. Eversince the belts were fragmented, boxing historians gives more weight to lineal titles rather than the ABC trinkets we have today.

Now going by this route Pac is only 4 weight true champion.

    112 lineal champion
    126 lineal champion
    130 lineal champion
    140 lineal champion

Now the reason he is considered 6 weight champion is that the ABC trinkets are also considered, aside from the lineal or historic or true championship.

    112 lineal, WBC champion
    122 IBF champion
    126 lineal, Ring champ
    130 lineal, WBC, Ring champ
    135 WBC champ
    140 lineal, IBO, Ring champ

Hope this gives a useful information and end this piontless debate abt. ring blah blah blah. You might not recognized it, but hey, boxing historians do as far as I'm concerned, he's 6 weight champion. And don't call someone tards when you don't know your boxing history.

Pacquiao just has to eat chips, gorge on cheeseburgers, laze around watching TV all day, play PS3, he'd be heavyweight in no time, and if he keeps up the lifestyle he'll surely maintain the weight no problem :yep

    I misunderstood the question.
I thought it was asking about a 7th division.
Minus one vote from the yes total. I vote no. He can't go higher than welterweight as he can't even do the proper 147 against Cotto.

flip-flopping as usual and in the same thread too

last time i checked the ibo is a sanctioning body, they impose uniformed rules and they do mandate the champion face the #1 challenger. I like to see u spin ur way out of this one.

Another reason/option to back out of the possibility of a fight with Floyd.

it was the IBO, and nobody considers that a real belt the WBO is barley a real title :deal

the fact that he want's cotto to come in at a catch-weight in this weight division would suggest that if he were to fight a light middleweight, he would want them to be at welter. so no he shouldn't and can't fight at 8 weights (well legitimately anyway).
also this thread seems to predict that he beats cotto anyway.

Very good point, I mean how can you claim to have won so many titles in so many divisons when you will not just allow the fighter to come in at the weight he is comforatble with.

Why the need for an advantage like this, if you say your the man why try to have your opponents come in at weights that are un safe for them? are you that insecure?
