Can Pacquiao sell a fight?

I'm only asking, as I received an e-mail from a friend, on boxinginsider.com, telling me all the crap Top Rank have been asking them to run over the next month.

Not much of it is actually anything to do with Pacquiao or Mosely. It's just load of rumour mongering about Mayweather.

Why are they pushing friendly sites of theirs, to flood with Mayweather stories, during a Pacquiao vs. Mosely promotion?

Not that I want to break any of this, before the site, but I was tipped off with two stories Top Rank were pushing their friendly sites and bloggers to run over the next month or so.

1: Floyd demanding $100 million for a fight
    2: Floyd fighting Paul Spadafora

Why? As Mosely looks like a decent bout, when Pacquiao's actual real rival is wanting $100 million, and trying to make fights with guys who retired 10 years ago.

They actually did a similar media campaign before the Margarito bout.

If you recall, there were lots of stories about Manny "agreeing to all testing demands" and Floyd fighting Mathew Hatton................

    What's the truth.

1: "$100 million" refers to an offer Floyd received from Don King about 8 months ago, for exclusive rights to his Pacquiao fight. It was quite widely reported at the time.

Arum is misleading folks, by implying it's a purse demand. It's in fact his total fee - purse, bonuses, and a promotional fee

To cut it short - Don Kings going to pay him 100 million if Mayweather lets him promote his half.

2: Paul Spadafora - This is from the "mathew hatton" school of match making. As in, Arum just finding some small name, who has remote links to Mayweather, and trying to start rumours about Floyd wanting to fight him.

What I'm saying is, Arum and Top Rank, and in truth Pacquiao and Roach, do spend most of their promotions talking about Floyd Mayweather.

    So my question is:

Does anyone really care about Pacquiao, if Mayweather's not his future?

If Arum came out and said "Floyd is not happening in the next 2 years", in 2009, and "he will be fighting Clottey, then Margarito, then Mosely" do you think anyone would still be bothered about him?

Truth is, Manny is hyped as he MAY be fighting mayweather soon.

Nobody cared about him at 130, on the grand scheme of things, and nobody would care about him now if guys like Mayweather and De la Hoya weren't helping him out as big name rivals

Pacquiao will be remembered the 2000s fighter of the decade, the greatest of this era, and will rank higher than Mayweather in the future.

Just saying this because the TS has somehow become an embodiment of hate for Pacquiao as he took different *****s' worst qualities. Some will say he wins fixed fight, some say he's on PEDs, some will say he fight shot fighter. But no, the TS has combined all of them. He doesn't even believe Pacquiao's a star. Combined with the fact that this guy doesn't post anything else other than Mayweather and Pacquiao, This guy is THE worst poster in ESB right now.

Check out his PPV sales in his most recent fights. That should answer your question without the need to ask and make a fool out of yourself.

I remember fans saying this about Mike Tyson.

Most Pacquiao's big wins have been against old guys, who'd already lost to grade B opponents

Truth is, Floyd will always be remembered as being several leagues above guys like Morales and marquez

Manny, just a try-hard, who had good fights with them

PPV sales for Oscar, Hatton, Diaz, marquez, were plain awful.

    They've only increased, with Mayweather

A Top Rank promotional campaign for Pacquiao is usually in the form of trying to convince people they're trying to make a Mayweather fight..........................................And this is the best they can do.

Truth is, fans are just hanging on for Mayweather

You must be paid handsomely by Floyd cause you're there in every thread about Floyd and Pac. Any negativity towards Floyd you are the quickest to response... Keep it up :good
