He consistently says he can go down but if I'm not mistaken Cintron said he wanted the fight at welterwight. The fight is announced as a junior middleweight fight though. So can he get down?

I think he could still make it but whether he would be effective anymore due to the weight loss is another thing.

Oscar said the same thing and look what happened to him. By no means that Paul will be as dehydrated as Oscar, but it will affect him. There is no need for him to make 147 anyway. He has his hands full at 154.

Of what use when no one will fight him. I think Paul Williams will have to settle for 154-160 range. He can easily dominate those divisions, unless the like of AA decides to return back to middleweight.

Makes no sense to say you won't fight Pavlik because you are going to WW the turn around and try and get a Martinez rematch at 160, yeah that is what the rematch was being negotiated at, and then turn around and fight a WW at JMW. Paul says a lot of things, like he wants the Pavlik fight and then won't seriously negotiate it.

    :patsch

That had nothing to do with not being able to make weight, and everything to do with Floyd, Shane, Cotto, Margarito, Cintron, Berto, Zab, and Mosely's ***** ass not giving him a fight there.

well if he can make the weight, i think he would be less efficient there than at SWW, because of the negative effect of the extra weight draining.

What? Are you that certain he can make 147 healthy? If you truly feel that way, well that is your opinion. The thread is a question and many different answers and opinions will be posted.

I will believe it when I see it. ****, fighters say a lot of things. It is one thing you say and it is another that you actually do it. If the money is right, there will be a line of fighters waiting for him at 147.

shane, pac and pbf are tied up w/ eachother. cotto is moving up. clottey just did his best impersonation of an oak tree in his last fight...

there is no reason for paul to be down there...he has a lot going on at smw. in fact he has more than a lot. cintron, cotto/yuri winner, sergio rematch, etc.

now could he do it and still be effective? good question. i have no idea. NBA would know more about that than most. i would imagine it will be hard for him to do w/ that frame after too long w/ age slowing the metabolism down. then again, some black folks just stay string beans like that....:D

Goosen says he can. Peterson says he can. Paul says he can. According to Goosen they all three had a conversation about making 147 on December 20th 2009, the day after Pavlik stood center ring and laughed at Paul. If Goosen, Peterson, and Williams all say it is true, it must be true . . . . . . right?
