For me, Pavlik doesnt offer enough variety in his game plan to punish JC, I know JETSKI will disagree! Seriously though, what does Kelly posess that JC hasnt dealt with before? Sure Kelly has power, Jc has been there done that. Kelly isnt that quick either. The one thing that might play into Kelly's hands is that JC gets over confident in there
You are at it again...:nono ...I know you're an artiste and all, and you have flights of fancy...but...please...:deal
As Roger would say, I know what kinda fighter Pavlik is. He's the kinda fighter gonna get what the rest of those mother****ers got Pavlik has not got the adaptability whatsoever. He might look ok for a round or two, but he'll be figured out like the rest of em' and whilst Joe will be on plan B or C he'll be stuck on A getting his ass whooped because its all he got. He'll have nothing to compete with the southpaw jab, speed and crazy angles Just don't be suprised when Pavlik looks like a deer in the headlights in the corner like all the rest. Beaten, bruised and confused.
Yeah, man. I've always liked what I've seen from Kelly & Joe's style makes me puke. I hope he buries him if the fight. How's that???:!:
Joe's style is perfect against Kelly. Your hope has nothing to do with it, really. Kelly shouldn't be fighting Joe anyway. He should be fighting Abraham. Then, he should move to 168 lbs for good and take on Bute.
Agree 100%. Kelly is limited in the sense that he only fights one way, when that fails, then what? JC can adapt 2 or 3 times in a fight, and like you say, angles is the key for Joe here, Kelly wont get into any sort of rythm, and that = confusion and a JC Win
Absolutely wrong there. In the 2nd fight vs Taylor, JT was keeping it an even fight. Kelly DID make adjustments & turned the fight in his favor in the later rounds. The kid is not only phsyically dominant in there, he's real smart, too.
kelly has great power/great finishing abilty and if calzaghe makes silly mistakes, which he sometimes does he can be nailed. can he be ko`d yes early i give pavlik a chance, but after that IMO calzaghe will use his feet /head/body movement /angles /speed of hand and foot / constant punching to keep pavlik off balance and hitting/spinning turning make it very hard for pavlik to get any rythem or timing. calzaghe never goes back in straight lines, he goes sideways/under/or exchanges . calzaghe is obviously much harder to hit clean than it looks /his unorthodoxy/atletisim/abilty to read what his comning at him and step of/duck under/spin makes him harder to hit , especially when his opening have a look has taken place. i do not feel calzaghe would treat pavlik with anything but the utmost repect and fight accordingly. this is not a fight he needs to come onto his opponent and as a counterpuncher if you watch any of his fights in this role, he hardly gets touched. on pavliks side calzaghe used to love a tear up, willing to stand in the pocket , negate defense and just have a tit for tat battle using his faster hands to dominate. calzaghe fought this way v pavlik then pavlik`s heavy artillery comes into play. i do not think pavlik can walk through calzaghe because of reasons i stated, calzaghe will simply duck any left hooks spin off to pavliks left ,counter and make pavlik have to adjust his feet to reset time and time again.
Pavlik hasnt fought anybody and you say that Calzaghe hasnt been in with anybody of Pavliks calbre :rofl
They say every aging Champion always has that one GREAT fight left in him. For Calzaghe to beat Pavlik it would have to be that fight for Joe. Pavlik's punching power will prob increase with a weight gain.. Joe is most comfortable @ SM + Joe's southpaw style will alwyas be to his advantage & underated Punching power. (Defo not 1 punch, but sting) Can Kelly catch Joe? What reaction will Joe have to a right hand from Pavlik? What reaction will Pavlik have to a in your chest fight with Joe C. This defo the best fight out there besides a Cotto/Mayweather & the Cotto/Margarito fight.
One of the most interesting aspects of this fight lies in the fact that it generally takes both guys 3 or 4 rounds to really get going. Neither is a slow starter in the sense of needing a few feeling out rounds, but both guys tend to take a few rounds to really get in their groove. If Pavlik can change things up a bit, jump right on Joe and hurt him early, he can make it an easy and short night, because if Pavlik hurts ya, you're doomed! However, I doubt if that is very likely. The mistakes Joe makes are the key to a Pavlik victory. A right hand like Kelly's is a southpaw's worst nightmare, and Joe is very susceptible to right hands. Joe has a tendency to square up right in front of his opponent. He does that and then starts winging wide "shoe-shine" type punches (slaps.) Everytime he does that, Pavlik will throw both hands right up the middle. Joe likes to dig into the body with his left. Against a guy with Pav's build he will probably see body punches as crucial. However, when Joe throws those body shots he leaves the whole right side of his head and face wide open. Pavlik has stopped guys cold with left hooks. Joe also throws a lot of quick little punches to the head and face that having nothing on them. Here again, he squares up in front of his opponent when he does that, and leaves his mid-section wide open. Pavlik, does not get much credit for it, but the truth is he is a murderous body puncher. All this will lead to pav stopping Joe before the end of the 10th. I used to say that Pavlik would stop Joe while behind on the cards. Since JC/Bhop I'm not so sure. I think pav will take joe's work rate away and make him far less appealing to the judges than he normally is.
I agree about him fighting Abraham, if his jaw holds up against Miranda.:yep And he prob will fight him. KP has said he wants to clean house @ Middlewt. Joe's trying his best to trick RJJ into thinking realistically cause thats who he really wants. And if Joe is around in a year when KP goes to 168, he'll be 1 year older & it will just hurt that much more the next day. :deal
