All right, that was funny. How do we know what else he might do though brother? You just got that kind of genius fore-sight to absolutely know, he has nothing else, even though there has never been a situation that called for him to use it? That's what you're saying?
So is the general concesus that Pavlik is gonna need to be a counter puncher against the hard hitting Calzaghe?:huh 11-0011-1-0-1-0-1
It can't be said for certain, but I find it highly unlikely that at any point Pavlik would be able to switch gameplans and beat Calzaghe. Just what advantages does Pavlik have that he could use in any other way apart from Jab Jab Right?
Even though they use the old skool and primitive training techniques, I'm pretty sure the folks over at Team Pavlik have heard of left hooks, upper cuts, etc... and know how to mix them into a combo accordingly.
Intuition, and a bit of common sense :good I'm being slightly unfair when I say he has no adaptability full-stop, he might be able to try something different against somebody that isn't Calzaghe, where the skillsets are closely matched, but in the context of this fight there is nothing he can do but the thing he is best at; and prayer to God How you gonna try to counterpunch somebody that is faster than you, with better footwork, and a superior defence without being easily countered yourself? How you gonna stand off a southpaw that has taken away every fighter he ever mets jab? How you gonna infight somebody that dealt with Mary's ugly ass in those clinches? It ain't happening. It's Plan A for Kelly. Get your bibles out, and start going to church on Sundays.
I am not comparing Taylor to Calzaghe indirectly, but your using calzaghe's speed and footwork as his major upside. I think everyone that Pavlik has a faced has better footwork and speed, and taylor haas much better footwork and speed. And what was the outcome on all of those fights. Plus Calzaghe speed shines at heavier weights Pavlik fights smaller and fast opponents on a regular basis
I was using Calzaghe's speed, footwork and defence as the major reasons for why Pavlik will find it impossible to counterpunch Calzaghe. How the hell can you counterpunch that guy and not expect to get worse back when they are in a better position than you, are more likely to block your shots, and have quicker hands to fire back? And thus, another one of Pavlik's potential gameplans is out the window
Well not so much, it hasn't been proven either way yet My gut feeling is Pavlik will have very little adaptability against any fighter, but I'll wait and see before making that claim anymore. However, I KNOW he has no gameplan other than A for Joe Calzaghe
Dude, seriously, I just can't even envision part of Pavlik's gameplan to be to Counter Punch Calzaghe. Why the hell would he even want to try that? I'm not meaning one or two here and there, I mean as an over all state of mind kind of game plan.
Exactly, he wouldn't I was just going through a list of potential gameplans other than A he could try once Joe figured his ass out. So thats an official no from esteemed Pavlikite, piped, for counterpunching Next up, standing off and trying to outbox Calzaghe with the jab? :huh
Gut feeling, huh? You must make a killing at the bookies with your gut feelings? BTW, is it any thing like Relentless' tingly tip of the ***** type of deal?
It's PavLicker, corn hole. If you want me to take you serious, you've first got to get our derogatory nickname correct.:deal
Pavlicker does roll off the tongue nicely, and its clever in not such a subtle way. Gotta be unique around here though, I'm taking Pavlikites :deal Or just ****s
